I don’t care what the unspoken understanding was at the time ...did they really stop and think about the future use of any pics etc ??? ...I doubt it ...

Why the sex tape? The Marine likely requested it of the female, as proof that it was not rape. Believe me, if a accusation is made, the Sailor/Soldier/Marine/Airman had better have proof, as command presumes guilt. If that sounds strange, well that is the way it is. You have some very wacky women in the military, who are total drama queens and get off on all of the male attention, even if they have to manufacture it. Unless you have seen it you have no idea how it is,
Now the guy was a low life putting it out there, but you do not know the details. Strange situations occur that make no sense unless you understand the situation, the military way of thinking and doing things is often very strange to the rest of the world. By adding women and homosexuals and as of July 2016 (at least in the Army/National Guard/reserves) transsexuals you have added a who new strain. Now folks are looking over each other shoulders and despite what folks are told, normal men despise gays and transsexuals, they just cannot say it openly. Certain units, particularly those with combat vets can be very difficult environments to be transferred into. It might have been posted as means of establishing the bona fides of the Marine in question.
It is also possible he showed it to someone, who then lifted it and posted it on line, to every ones hilarity. Young men show bravado and sexual conquests are a popular topic, especially of good looking women. The pranks and shenanigans that go one are very funny if you are part of it and get the culture, if outside of it might appear odd, like taking someone’s personal camera and taking pictures of your harry balls, for them to discover when they get home while showing their wife shots from their deployment.
Not defending the Marine involved, nor the female involved, just pointing out reality which has not been mentioned. You are making judgments based on hearing only one side.
