TALLAHASSEE, Fla. Today Governor Rick Scott released the following statement on State Attorney Aramis Ayalas decision not to seek the death penalty for Markeith Loyd, who is charged with killing Lt. Debra Clayton of the Orlando Police Department.
Governor Scott said, I want to be very clear, Lt. Debra Clayton was executed while she was laying on the ground fighting for her life. She was killed by an evil murderer who did not think twice about senselessly ending her life. I completely disagree with State Attorney Ayalas decision and comments and I am asking her to recuse herself immediately from this case. She has made it abundantly clear that she will not fight for justice for Lt. Debra Clayton and our law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line every day.

State AG’s office needs to take over the prosecution.
“State Attorney Aramis Ayala”
Never heard of this person. Do you have any background on her?
Recusal is for wimps. < /sarcasm >
C’mon, lady, stand up for yourself! Don’t let the rule of law, or common ethics, get in your way, this is IMPORTANT!
Principle to be defended here, even if it is in the most underhanded way and with a large measure of chicanery to boot.
Background is what we have come to expect.
Is she an elected official? If not I would be requesting her resignation. If she is, I would file impeachment charges.

There is a specific and long-standing procedure in Florida statutory law that has the Governor — not the Florida Attorney General — designate another State Attorney as prosecutor in a case when the local State Attorney recuses or is disqualified. I am sure that Governor Scott’s remarks were made with that in mind.
I don’t know but probably elected.
She is a stone solid Leftist who was backed by George Soros and his political organization. She won in the Democratic primary, and with that circuit (Orange and Osceola counties) now being solidly Democratic, she was easily elected State Attorney in the general election.

Attorney General Bondis Statement on State Attorney Ayalas Neglect of Duty
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.Attorney General Pam Bondi today released the following statement about State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit Aramis Ayalas announcement that she will not be seeking death penalty in cases handled in my office:
“State Attorney Aramis Ayalas decision today sends a dangerous message to residents and visitors of the greater Orlando areafurthermore, it is a blatant neglect of duty and a shameful failure to follow the law as a constitutionally elected officer.
One of my brothers in Orlando called me last night in fury about this development. Significantly, retired Judge Belvin Perry (Black) was on the TV last night denouncing the decision in unusually harsh terms. The son of one of Orlando’s first Black police officers, Perry is popular and respected, and his comments suggest that the strongest currents at work in the Black community align with law enforcement and against criminality.
Many in government leadership have so little respect for cops and even abandon them if there is the smallest political threat...
I was shocked as well! I am glad Gov. Scott and Pam Bondi are taking a stand on this.

Yes, thanks. My suspicions were confirmed.
State attorney drops charges against two accused of helping hide Markeith Loyd
“ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Charges against the remaining two people accused of helping Markeith Loyd while he was on the run were dropped late Monday by the Orange-Osceola County State Attorneys Office.
“Prosecutors filed “no information” notices in felony cases against Jameis Slaughter and Zarghee Mayan. They were accused of giving Loyd money and rides while he was on the run after the shooting deaths of Sade Dixon, her unborn child and Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton.
“Slaughter and Mayan join Lakensha Smith-Loyd, who previously had aiding and abetting charges dropped. Slaughter still faces a misdemeanor charge for pretending to be her twin sister when police arrested her in January.”
This woman is bad news to the nth degree. It appears she is unwilling to apply the law to certain racial groups. I hope the Governor can have her removed and put a pit bull prosecutor on the case.
