Let me be clear, I didn’t vote for Justin and had I a vote I would have voted for Donald. But JT is our Prime Minster just as DT is your President. Like them or not they are the elected leaders.

Gander has a population of about 11,000 with a first class airport left over from WWII. Imagine 6,600 people dropping in from the sky who need to be fed and housed for almost a week in a small town like that. The Newfoundlanders did it, without hesitation.
Some of the press is spinning this as a play about how Canada treats refugees. These airline passengers were not refugees, they were neighbors who needed food and shelter for a while.
A little known fact is that the passengers gave a typical American reaction to the hospitality shown them. They set up a scholarship fund for the children of Gander.
