Ryancare Cuts Funding for People with Disabilities

The Republican leadership’s plan to roll back Medicaid puts families with disabilities in a dire situation. Many American families rely upon Medicaid to pay for the expensive care that comes with disabilities. Families with special needs rely upon Medicaid for specialized care for daily living and to pay caretakers so that parents can work.

However, the Ryan plan might jeopardize those who rely upon Medicaid for disabilities. Speaker Ryan’s plan places a per-person cap for all Americans, including people with disabilities, children, and the elderly.

Conservatives previously advocated for block granting Medicaid to the states, where states can have more flexibility to care for their citizens. Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Breitbart News about her support for block granting Medicaid to the states. She said, “We already give them the responsibility [for Medicare], so let’s give them the authority and the money and you can get rid of some of the constraints from the federal government and offer a better product at a more affordable cost and help more people. States have always been a great center for innovation.”

Ryan is a democrat with a republican title. Remember, Podestas emails stated they have a “operative in the Republican Party”. Ryan’s a plant IMO.

IT also requires we use babies for airplane fuel...

It’s amazing how wonderful they found Obamacare and how hideous they find RINOcare.

When are Republicans in the HOR going to take power away from Ryan, and not let him be responsible for anything? He’s toxic.

Before Obamacare, families with disabled children commonly used Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to pay for special needs education and medical bills. Obamacare reduced the FSA limit to $2500.

Need to increase the HSA and FSA limit.

We should get back to the constitution and cut all this unconstitutional socialist welfare malarkey out of our central government and return it to the states and the people as the founders intended. And then we can reduce federal income taxes accordingly. Why should we allow the federal government to over tax us and then dole it back to the states as block grants with strings attached? The states and local governments can set up welfare hospitals and clinics, doctors, nurses and support personnel to provide for the poor and disabled and pay for it through local and state taxes if need be (constitutionally authorized, voted for and controlled by the people and their local representatives). Keep it close to the people.

I recently had an annual physical and was hit with the government’s new Wellness Questionnaire. It is creepy and invasive.

Helping the massively disabled and elderly are the only two areas I can see the nation does.
SS was supposed to be there for the elderly.

All and all, 65% of people on the dole have zero good reasons to be there.

You and I have been here about the same amount of time, I don’t recall when we did not have them.

I’ve read the current law isn’t exactly friendly to the disabled and indigent. They now have longer queues because of the limited number of doctors that take medicaid patients in expanded medicaid states.

If you were truly sorry that others are disabled, you’d have a far more Christian response.

People who have paid income taxes *are* entitled to disability. In case you haven’t noticed, that’s the law.

As a disabled person, myself, I don’t appreciate being told that I don’t deserve health care. I didn’t make myself disabled, and I started working from the time I was 12, paying my way through private school. I certainly deserve benefits more than some illegal alien.

Would you mind sharing your disability for further analysis and criticism? I caught a flight the other day and came across a pilot with a major arm deformity. The person basically had a couple of fingers attached to his elbow. Was this person disabled?

Congrats, this is why we live in a socialist welfare state. You can claim your “entitlement”, but don’t claim to be a conservative.
