Interesting. We’re both 63 and pay roughly $250 a year for health care including dentist visits.
She’s overpaying.
This is also anecdotal. Anything the government does will weaken some people and strengthen others. You can pull sob stories regarding anything like this.

I don’t think the author understands the difference between health care and health insurance.

Neither does 80% of the population.

What did she pay in 2009 before Obamacare saved us all? That’s all were asking for, is to put it back....

That’s what Concern Trolls do.

Wouldn’t Medicare kick in at 65? This person will be 65 before repeal and replace is effective. More fake news.
To: Mr. Douglas
I’m 62, my wife is 57.
Last year we paid $10,000 PLUS government subsidy.
This year they wanted $12,000+.
I said no effing way.
We now have NO insurance thanks to Obozo and the Dems.
My employer USED to provide our insurance FREE until Obozo got elected then he couldn’t afford it any more..............

Interesting. Were both 63 and pay roughly $250 a year for health care including dentist visits.
So you're self-insuring? What happens if you have a catastrophic health event that costs tens of thousands - or worse, hundreds of thousands of dollars to save your life of the life of your spouse?
As much as I loathe CNN, examples like this are very fair game..health INSURANCE or health CARE should not bankrupt families or consume 30-50 or more % of their gross income - period.

You got off easy. I priced Silver coverage on the exchange, and it came to $18K+ in premiums AND a $6K per person per year deductible (for two people).
I sure hope whatever winds up getting signed fixes this, but have zero confidence that rates are going down. If anything, they are going up - ESPECIALLY if "Ryancare" passes which I sure hope it doesn't. Strangely enough, Obamcare actually looks BETTER than Ryancare, if that's event remotely possible.

What about those who are 63 today and making $26K a year? Dismissing it by referring to those who are 64 today does not answer the question.

Shes overpaying.

Thats what Concern Trolls do.
It can be used effectively if it is addressing a larger point and solution. When it is just used to hold up someone as “Look! It’s hurting this person! It must be stopped!”, it is disingenuous.

One thing for sure, its only fair if we work our entire life's and save money for a rainy day and then pool our monies together with like minded folks per our right of freedom of assembly , we should be able to use our combined equity towards medical comfort of our choosing , that is the meaning of insurance and the meaning of freedom. Insurance itself is not a right, but the access to peruse it, wealth , the right to work and the right to combine our wealth with others is.
Heath care is a completely different issue the left likes to confuse the public with to take away our constitutional rights .. We are all going to die at some point, no matter how much money we pay or somebody else pays for our heath care.... its a fake argument meant to take away our freedom and has no solution.

That’s why any insurance connected with the government is worthless.

Until Obamacare, I paid virtually nothing for health insurance and has $1000 deductible. Now I pay $878/mo, $5000 deductible, I am 59, wife 55. I am in the sales game, and have been for years, too late to change now, I also make about $25000 less than I made 20 years ago.
