Disney has bet the ranch on Beauty and the Beast. they need the homosexual demos to offset the fact that no heterosexual male is going to the flick willingly...

Just checked on the Box Office, and they are predicting massive Box Office this weekend.

We’ll see about that.

They’re pushing this (Box Office) image for all it’s worth.

Either it’s desperation time, or it will sell no matter what since it’s Disney.

Disney hedged its bet. If B&tB tanks, Marvel and Star Wars will pull them out. And even if B&tB tanks here, it will d great foreign box office, which can be up to 2x the domestic draw.

Disney has not bet the ranch on Beauty. In 2016, Disney had 4 movies gross over one billion dollars, the first time any studio had 4 movies make so much money in one year. They are by far the strongest studio. That does not include any revenue received from video on demand, cable, DVD sales. Disney is an incredible cash cow. One movie will never break them. In fact, the latest box office projections show Disney grossing about $120 to $130 million in the US and Canada for the first weekend and about $215 to $245 million worldwide for the first weekend.

Disney is too strong of a studio and the Beauty story is universally known which makes for full theaters. And Disney makes that money with low priced tickets for all the kids that rush to the movie theater. I doubt most people know of "the kiss".

If you want to follow its box office story this weekend, Deadline.com has updates Fri morning and through the weekend detailing the box office draw of all movies, but they place an emphasis on the new ones.
