Thank you. I have been considering getting the shingles vaccine, so just knowing that they use aborted babies to make the vaccine will be enough to let me say no if the doctor tries to push it on me. But I am also looking forward to the new Glaxo SmithKline HZ/su shingles vaccine produced without using aborted babies.

I got my shingles shot about 3 years ago when there was still just one vaccine available.

To my dismay, I learned later that the original vaccine is only effective on 50% of the recipients. It provides just limited protection to the other 50%.

The newest vaccine is 90% effective, but I don't know if that is the Smith-Kline vaccine or not.
