FReepers must make the list. A specific and pragmatic list.
FReepers must do grassroots organizing to push politicians to commit to specific eliminations.
FReepers must submit recommendations (and demands?) using the official pathways.
FReepers must support CATO, Heritage, etc on specific things they want to eliminate.
This is a political campaign all over again.
So what’s the goal? My experience in the private sector was that we (senior management) would set a reduction goal and then give the operating groups 1 month to come back with a plan on how they would achieve it. Further reductions were smiled upon.
If Trump didn’t do a SINGLE additional thing the next 7 years, he will have already have accomplished more good than any president in my lifetime, including Reagan.

We at Free Republic ought to consider working on our list of specific downsizings and submit the list to whoever the Director of this downsizing is.
We did a road trip to the East Coast last summer. Saw where Washington got sworn in at NYC, the Delaware Crossing, then Philadelphia where the Senate and House met in the former town hall building, then to D.C.
Walking by one huge city-block-sized five-story building I mentioned “I’m guessing our Founding Fathers never would have imagined that such a huge building would be needed to be the headquarters to tell farmers how to farm!?” (It happened to be the Bureau of Agriculture building.) And of course all of those various groups have a similar building.
Perry will get his opportunity to decrease the Dept of Energy!

At the moment I would not be able to create a specific list, but given a few weeks of thinking about it, I could come up with a few specific downsizings and I am certain the more learned members at Free Republic could come up with even more specific areas to downsize the Federal Government.
About 75 percent of federal gub mint is either worthless or horse crap.

The Director of each agency is to create a list of things their department does efficiently and well. Those may be kept. All other functions cease immediately.
Government would get really, really small. Perhaps needing only 3-4 people to run.
