I hope the Trump administration drops CAFE standards. It would be nice to see a resurgence of full size American cars on the road.

“I hope the Trump administration drops CAFE standards”

Sadly this won’t happen. My wife worked in planning for 1 of the big 3. You would be astonished at the amount of cost and resources it took to satisfy CAFE requirements. It completely distorts the market and sends vehicles costs through the roof. Before the government sunk their claws into the process cars were designed for style, comfort and performance these things are secondary to government compliance. The fact that that these new standards threaten millions of jobs means nothing to the CA a-holes.
They will fight this the the SC. I just pray Pruitt doesn’t back down.

Agreed. Crown Vics, Roadmasters, 90’s era Impalas/Caprices and similar are overdue for a return to the mass market, not just the domain of luxury cars.

Repealing CAFE means getting more car per dollar without some environmental activist saying one can’t.

“I hope the Trump administration drops CAFE standards.”

I totally agree. Let people decide what they want to buy.
