The Washington Post published an intricate investigation into White House chief strategist Steve Bannons shady residential history on Saturday, from which one extremely bleak detail stands out in particular, an email sent to Bannon in February 2015 by one of his former Florida landlords that reads, in part, [E]ntire Jacuzzi bathtub seems to have been covered in acid.
Bannons reply was entirely too curt. Im out of town, Bannon wrote, is there any way u can talk with Diane and sort things out ???
The acid reportedly destroyed the tub and the propertys landlords estimated it caused $14,000 worth of damage. They did not return Bannon and ex-wife Diane Clohesys $9,800 security deposit.

It could have been Muriatic acid they use that in pools.
I hear what you’re saying, but I kinda WANT someone in the oval office who does this sort of thing ...
Maybe give him a pneumatic cattle-knocker like that guy in No country for old men ? He can lug it around with the staff where they go..
impeach hell........ burn the post and flog the publisher
So they were already done breaking up by that point? Good to know. Can never count on the press to cover the points of information that actually count nowadays. And trust me, I know exactly who they are and why they leave out details.
Was the court located in the Kangaroo Exhibit at the local Zoo?
How unfair.
I don’t know who Curt is, but maybe the landlord did the damage in order to keep the security deposit.
Ed
LOL!
Trippin’ in the hot tub?
Phosphoric or muriatic acid is used in cleaning ceramics, tile, porcelain. It MUST be rinsed off and I’ll bet someone forgot about it after applying it.
Epsom Salt could have been used, unknowingly.
” That being said you should never add Epsom salts to your spa or swim spa. Here is why: Salt levels above 1500 ppm can be corrosive in a spa depending on the pH.”
“Once in another life I painted an entire wall BLACK.”
A former colleague told me a story from his younger days in California. Some friends were p.o.’d at their landlord for evicting them from a rental house. Probably under the influence of various substances, they all decided to paint every inch of the house with black paint on the last night of their residency. And they did.
I asked the guy what happened when it was found out. He said, “I don’t know. All I know is... my name wasn’t on the lease.”
Surprised they didn’t accuse him of bathing someone in acid.
I heard he also removed a “Do not remove under penalty of law” tag from his mattress. And his mother ate elderberries.
Where did they get the email? Emails are not public.
privacy breach?
I had a landlord when I was in my twenties; we shared the house with four of my girlfriends. When it came time for us to move out, he and his wife were planning to move in and retire there.
He was so scared to see the place but we really fixed it up nice. We had no money nor talent to modernize the place, but we restored what was there beautifully with elbow grease and paint. It was pristine.
He was an Asian man and when he came in and saw the house, he cried and hugged us. We got back more than our deposit.
That is when people were nice.
Maybe if it's inflatable. If it's a "real" hot tub by a reputable brand, the no frills basic model purchase price start about 5k and go up from there. If you can't install it yourself, tack on another few thousand. I could easily see 14k for a really good tub. Granted, that's the high end, but I suspect Bannon wasn't renting a cheap place.
