The Washington Post published an intricate investigation into White House chief strategist Steve Bannon’s shady residential history on Saturday, from which one extremely bleak detail stands out in particular, an email sent to Bannon in February 2015 by one of his former Florida landlords that reads, in part, “[E]ntire Jacuzzi bathtub seems to have been covered in acid.”
Bannon’s reply was entirely too curt. “I’m out of town,” Bannon wrote, “is there any way u can talk with Diane and sort things out ???”
The acid reportedly destroyed the tub and the property’s landlords estimated it caused $14,000 worth of damage. They did not return Bannon and ex-wife Diane Clohesy’s $9,800 security deposit.

I think they might have been divorced by then, but they seem to have maintained a friendly relationship, including working on a film together. Sounds like she had issues, but the jacuzzi pretty clearly didn’t have anything to do with Bannon.
He was obviously using the acid to dissolve all of his overdue library books before the library collections came after.... that crafty SOB.
My favorite toilet cleaner has acid in it. I could see it being used by mistake.

Most likely, the PVC plumbing was destroyed. The tub is probably fiberglass/frp which is impervious to most corrosion .
I'm a landlord as well. I'm way to "liberal" with tenets that leave on their own free will. I give them their total amount back if they leave on time even if it costs me. I just want things to move smoothly. The horror stories of tenets that destroy the place or stays without payment bothers me.
About this Brannon story. They need a pool man to check too see if he just added to much dry chlorine (very acidic) or was it something else.
I hope Bannon has a good dermatologist.
And Esquire, lacking a sense of humor, was trying to reinvent itself with a satirical riff on a previously dull WaPo piece about Bannon having numerous mailing addresses.
This doesn't even meet the low bar of fake news.
Betcha the reporter can also prove with mathematical certainty that Bannon stole the strawberries!
