And I’m increasingly convinced that Ryan gave Trump a private threat: ‘If you want tax cuts, you best do your darnest to sell my healthcare bill.’

Probably an implied threat, but that’s what I think is going on.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This is my conclusion also. This is Trump’s first real test. Is he for the people or NOT?

There will definitely be a bloodbath if they pass Ryancare. Trump better wake the hell up and remember what we sent him to the White House for: complete repeal of Obamacare. No repeal and replace, just REPEAL.

So, at some point, DJT must inform the legislature regarding the definition of REPEAL!

NOT simply “replace”.

He is Boehner’s boy—Boehner still supping at the trough and drinking it too, more golf with the across the aisle crowd. And the real US People? Forget them.

Ryan is a weasel, and it is apparent he is playing a game- poorly. The Establishment, left and right— pays well and all these jacka@@es know this, and that is what they are doing.

Ryan-— the new millenial Bob Michel minority whiner who can continue to fake out people, he thinks and keep in his “place” and stay friends with the utterly destroyed minority party. This is who he his, as well as a stooge of the insurance geeks industry of toll collectors and liars who NEVER pay up lifetime coverages.

Ryan sets the schedule this year — tax cuts are next on the House docket. If Trump fails to jump through his hoops, then Ryan will try to sabotage tax cuts.

It's not like DJT to leave himself vulnerable or dependent upon the persuasiveness of House Speaker Paul Ryan, so I've been thinking all along that POTUS must be holding his own Plan B in his pocket in the event that his bowling parties with GOP senators and public events like the planned one in Tennessee this week do not give him the results he seeks.

President Trump knows that Tax Cuts are a must for this year!

You provide very interesting perspectives on this thread, D1.

I keep envisioning where we would be without lawyers in the mix. In that case, neighborhood GPs could take care of their neighbors, in many cases, like in the old days. They could dispense medicines according to practical considerations including costs, and, of course, THE PLACEBO EFFECT IS REAL ... meaning that a lot of medicine is the personal trust and involvement.

Or at least that used to be the case.

I think we must all understand here, that as long as the government is involved, costs will continue to expand to soak up every dollar and more, no matter what the taxpayers provide.

Socialism is a bottomless pit.

I don’t want to speculate too much on what Trump might be doing in a public post because some wacko reporters assumed I was GW Bush while others assumed I was Rush Limbaugh, but I’ll say this publicly — you’re a smart cookie.

And if Trump were working on amendments or his own plan — he would:

1. Try not to ruffle Ryan’s feathers — wait until the guy fully realizes he blew it.

2. Get DOJ lawyers working their tails off.

3. A listening campaign with disgruntled conservatives [with intel quietly passed on to DOJ lawyers.]

Don’t forget — Trump didn’t have his Attorney General until recently, and it was only last weekend when Sessions cleaned house. Without the DOJ, you can’t overhaul such massive legislation.

As for health care, I agree that the federal government should stay as far away from it as it possibly can.

When it comes to a national policy on drug approvals, we need a national entity to run the approval process.

That does not necessarily have to be a government program.

An industry group might run that process well, but then you’d have the pharmaceutical folks pretty much running the show.

A commission or some such, would be made up of industry insiders. In a way that makes sense, because they understand the dynamics of bringing new drugs to market.

If you bring on people from the other public sector, you run the risk of getting Leftists involved. Of course that’s the same problem with the government oversight too.

People trash the FDA, and at times for good cause too.

I’m not sure what the resolution to this is. Getting it out of the government’s hands could be a better way to go.

If there’s a way to screw this up though, the Left will be sure to be there to help.
