Preet Bharara says he was fired "moments ago." He reiterated that he did not resign his post as Manhattan's federal prosecutor.

"I did not resign," Bharara said in a tweet. "Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Good for you. But that doesn’t mean I want America flooded with Indians, Asians, Arabs, South Americans and moslems.

I neglected to mention the Indian man I know is a surgeon - that is why we met.

I work with a few well educated Indians and some Asians as well. The south of the border people at my company are mostly janitors - probably due to education.

I don’t mind well educated immigrants as long as they’re not Muslims. Hard to trust a muzzie - at least for me.

Dinesh’s account of his trial and incarceration in a halfway house was the first book I read in 2016.

I don’t always agree with Dinesh, but I have never doubted his integrity.

He wrote at length about how Bharara insisted on maximum punishment for a technical violation of the campaign finance laws that should have, at worst, drawn a small fine and a reprimand.

Later on, I read from other sources about what a great prosecutor Bharara supposedly was, and how close he was to nailing some really corrupt bigwigs.

Well, that’s possible. But what I know for sure is the way Dinesh was railroaded.

So, it’s hard for me to form a mental picture of Bharara as some kind of moral paragon. Based on Dinesh’s account, I don’t get the impression that he would be trustworthy in a GOP administration.

Agreed, and I don’t understand why elected lawmakers are not required to write bills.

Was he an Obama appointee ..??

That is supposed to be the only reason these people are released, resign, whatever.

It’s a change of administration .. that’s all.

I'm not understanding all the confusion about this on FR today. The President asks all US Attorneys to hand over a resignation. The President can accept or reject the resignation.

This Bharra guy very well could have been asked to stay in place. Instead, he acts the horse's ass and makes a big public deal about being asked like everyone else to do what is right. I wouldn't keep him after the big show he put on in the media. If he had kept his mouth shut it very well could be he'd still have his job. And since he was USA for NY he very well could have had some kind of run-in with the Trump family in the past and was persona non-Grata with the President.

Yes,he was somehow going to nail both the Governor,of a Major State, and the Mayor of one of the largest cities in the US.

If he could do that, then neither Blasio or Cuomo should have their jobs.Somehow as crooked as those 2 are,I highly doubt they are that vulnerable to judicial pressure.Otherwise they would never have gotten elected.

Someone would have picked them off,for some reason or other.

I find it interesting that some here are saying that, if he was sooo close to prosecuting corruption in NY and elsewhere (still waiting, after all these years), why oh why would President Trump get rid of him?

Can not someone else, someone loyal to President Trump, someone loyal to the Constitution of the United States, do just the same?

Is he the only one capable and knowledgeable and wonderful enough to do that particular job? He's an Obama appointee and has had literally years and years to do the "job" he was hired to do.

Still waiting. He was asked to stay on after the inauguration. Ok. New boss in the WH, and now new boss in the DoJ. New boss in the WH changes his mind. Time to go.

New boss in the DoJ tells the remaining 46 Obama/Clinton/Bush holdovers to submit their resignations. So far, all but one chose to do so. Angry-Lefty-Obama minion tells his new DoJ boss to Eff Off. Unprofessional, unrealistic. So President Trump points the Doom Finger at this about-to-unemployed serve-at-the-whim-of-the-President holdover and says, "You're Fired!"

New Lefty-Media talking points about an angry former gubmint employee done wrong. Kabuki theater in the round.

Perhaps CNN/PMSNBC/et al can now hire him to give his lofty opinion about whatever.

Every Obama/Clinton/Bush government-appointed anything must go!

The swamp will not be drained as long as there exists even one Lefty bitter-clinger.

Like someone said on one of the “Preet got fired” threads, Preet = Dem Daryll Issa...

Hope the new guy or gal is loaded for bear on Illary & Wiener & other corruptocrats.

Clinton would be the FBI. Judge Janine just said all were asked but they did not accept 2 of them and if he had not had such a big ego it might have been three. He dared President Trump to fire him......so he did. What a dunce.

Ex NYC police chief stopped by WH this week. Nmmmm?
. I’d more to think this might not only be about the CLINTON Foundation but the Huma/Weiner computer. Remember the NYC police said they would prosecute if DOJ didn’t. Seems to me that this case would have fallen under his jurisdiction.
Anyone know what his record on pedophilia is? Just a hunch!
