A man wearing a backpack getting over the fence is one thing. A man wearing a backpack and getting over the fence and running all the way to the South Portico doorway is unnacceptable.

I have the perfect solution, a moat, six feet deep, with alligators.

Why they don’t have an up-to-date sensor detection system connected to the fence is beyond me. At the prison I retired from, we had 24 hour vehicle patrol, plus razor ribbon, and a microwave detection system in No Man’s Land. The microwave detection system was connected to cameras, that automatically alerted the officer in the arsenal when it detected a breach, and the camera covering that area would begin recording the spot that the detection was made. Sure it was a pain when a small critter or bird set it off, but at least no one ever escaped.

He made it to the South Portico doors..... That was an earlier report. A later police update put his capture between the Treasury Building and the White House.

You mean, he almost got away??? That would have been a good trick, from underneath a half-dozen SS agents and past police dogs.

CNN went off breathlessly half-cocked with a scrap of a story from an unnamed source, then had to retract most of it later when the police report came in.

" At least throw some barbed wire on the top."
Razor ribbon would be better, but all they have to do is throw a heavy coat or blanket over the wire, and off they go. They might get some injuries, but they can still get over.
Several armed SS agents should be patrolling that fence 24hours a day, sometimes on foot, or in golf carts.
