And the even bigger question is: Why would Trump even think of signing something like this into law?

I’m hopeful this isn’t the beautiful thing he’s been Tweeting about.

“why does the GOP want to push its own version of ObamaCare?”

Because they have been talking about ObamaCare for years and Trump’s election sort of calls their bluff ... and Trump wants to check off a campaign promise box.

This is my main reason for absolutely hating the ACA. I, along with most Americans hate the Government telling me I have to buy something in order to support someone else.

“Defunding doesn’t require an action, only intentional inaction. “

You want the Trump Administration to be as lawless as the Obama Administration? And you want “millions of people to be without healthcare?”
- - - - -
“I would call what you cite a partial repeal.”
- - - - - -
Well, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee call HR 2762 a “Total Repeal of Obamacare”. So at a minimum, they are being disingenuous and probably are revealing themselves as “creatures of the swamp”.

I think that is the best comment.

I trust Trump. I don’t trust Ryan (at all) but in the big scheme, I don’t truly have to trust Ryan. I think Trump knows what he is doing, and the essential thing to do right now is to end Obamacare. Phase 1 matters.

Has anyone received this email from “The White House”?
Just wondering.

From: The White House
Sent: Saturday, March 11, 2017 8:16 AM
Subject: President Trump’s Weekly Address: Repeal and Replace Obamacare

Watch President Trump’s Weekly Address to the Nation about repealing and replacing Obamacare. |

Seven years ago this month, despite profound objections of American people, Obamacare was signed into law. Our citizens were told they would have to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it, and now they have learned it was merely hundreds of pages of broken promises.

The law is collapsing around us, and we must act fast to save Americans from its wreckage.

President Donald J. Trump along with House Republicans have put forward a plan that gets rid of the disastrous law and replaces it with reforms that empower states and consumers. Americans will, once again, have the choice and the freedom to make the decisions that are right for their families.

To hear an important message from President Trump, watch his Weekly Address to the Nation where he lays out the plan to restore freedom, choice and opportunity back to American people.

Yawnnnnn!!!!

Wake me up in 90 days!

All this talk is pre battle skirmishing on the left flank!

Trump WILL repeal Obamacare because he knows he will be toast in 2020 and he knows 2018 will be devastating to Republicans if THEY do not.

We can’t just “go back.” One can never really go home again... after such a dramatic, labyrinthine shift. For one, the many, many high risk pools previously in place in the states were annihilated. The free marketers have to realize that insurance companies aren’t about to compete vigorously to insure sick people, whether across state or any other lines. We don’t have the stomach to deny care to uninsured, period. People claim to want only catastrophic coverage, but scream over high deductibles. In short, everyone wants a free lunch, because it has been drum-beaten into their heads that it is a right.

Nope. There is no penalty for not insuring. You can self insure. You are not taxed for not doing something. This was the whole issue of the first SCOTUS case.

Hate to be the one who has to introduce some actual facts into this debate, but here is the Congressional Research Service summary of the “Obamacare Repeal” Bill Passed by the House and Senate and vetoed by President Obama. Looks more like “Obamacare Defund” to me.Yeah, let's do that!

They did it once and they can do it again. Then Congress can pass a new bill that requires states to allow Insurers to compete across state boundaries for the whole country and eliminates any federal oversight of personal healthcare and Donald Trump can claim a victory.

“If we get Dorkbamacarte II, the GOP will end...”

Idiots. No matter what they do, the democrats will be against it, so they’d better at least try to pretend they’re doing something for their base, whoever that is anymore. How bout just sticking to the promise of repealing it first!!!

It’s usually about money. I’m thinking they’re trying to get a bigger slice of the pie. Somehow.

Take Ryan out of it and start over on the repeal. Do not consult the RINOs, that is Ryan and his crew. Do not consult the insurance companies until a plan is constructed. Then dump the plan on the insurance people and ask one question - are you interested in your insurance business or should we tell you get out and go to hell.

I do not understand Trump’s support for this bill. He usually has his hand on the pulse of the people, but I think he has moved into the echo chamber of Washington where a special interest bill is great progress. If you replace Ryan in his power point briefing with Hillary and the content stays the same it could be Hillary Care. I am hoping Trump is setting his good supporter Ryan up for the storm and adjusts his sails in time before his ship is swamped along with Ryan. According to Ryan: “Trust Republican leaders . . . it is a three step process.” BBBBBBSSSSSS. You have to earn trust. Just like Immigration reform, the “virtual wall,” trying to bring back earmarks, Ryan’s deficit cuts that come in 2025. How many bills that mattered did President Obama veto? Does this AHa plan (American Healthcare Act) put Congress on the AHa plan if it is so great. It will be AHa when the progress the people have made taking back the government across the country is squandered on this special interest nightmare.

Where is the Trump boldness?
Repeal and just Repeal! This is why he was elected. WTH! The government should not be allowed to extort from us by using our health is a pawn for their empowerment over us.
“Nice health you got there, it would be ashamed if something were to happen to it”.
