Because too many of them are at heart big state, bought-off, uniparty leftists.

Yep.

Unlike “what wrongdoing?” Democrat voters, many Republican voters hold grudges and seldom forget Republican misdeeds or betrayals.

In short: Republicans occasionally eat their own.

Which is actually one of the ways they are better than Democrats.

[Don’t forget RomneyCare...and Romney hasn’t gone away. He may be silent, but he does his dirty work via Ryan.]

That’s exactly what this is. The Romney GOP.

I’d love to know what was discussed during Trump’s meeting with Romney. I hope it was “stay the hell out of my way”.

No—they could have defunded it for years, but were too cowardly to.

As odious as it may be at least it is still a State effort, and therefore not run afoul of the 10th.

Hogwash! If trump wanted it repealed it could be done today. 51 votes by reconciliation. Trump stated govt has a role in healthcare, so he is the liberal elephant in the room. Repeal Today.. or else, we will know your real agenda.
Trump is being a coward on this. Repeal today.. let the market gel. Replacement should never include the insurers, the folks getting fed in the govt trough.

We’ve got to let the process play out. Trump’s biggest 2 promises were the wall and repeal & replace Obamacare.

If it isn’t done by 2018, then Trump might lose the house or the senate or both.

Gingrich said last night on Hannity to be patient with the process. He also said that this bill, weak as it is, is still far better than Obamacare.

He reminded that there is only a 2 vote margin in the senate.

This is so predictable....in fact I predicted it months ago...the GOP meeting behind closed doors with insurance lobbyists, pharmaceutical lobbyist, and lawyers to craft a “replacement” system.

(Sec. 204) The penalty for individuals who do not maintain minimum essential health care coverage is eliminated.

Phase 1 will end Obamacare. The Senate rules for reconcilation with a Budget require what is being done to enable ending Obamacare with just 51 votes. Any other technique would allow filibusters and require 60 votes. No Democrat will vote for repeal.
Sit tight and let the system work. Investigate it yourself and you will understand.

Ryan like most of the uniparty is owned by the drug companies. It’s sure that any bill they promote will continue the handouts to pharma. They certainly dont care about the people.

Defunding doesn’t require an action, only intentional inaction. Obama and company actually spent monies not appropriated by Congress, including looting Fannie and Freddy, trying to get around the Constitution.

I would call what you cite a partial repeal.

As opposed to a “Repeel” ... what they seem to be doing now.

If Brietbart is right and fifteen million are forced out of their medical insurance and if they don’t introduce more competition by allowing companies to cross state lines, this will sweep the progressives back into power. It is stupidity.

Trump is getting horn swoggled by the establishment RINOs and if he signs Ryan's obozocare light, it will be to his end as a trusted worthy American patriot per his own claim

Uh I hate to break it to you but the new bill gives you 63 days grace period. After that you get a 30% penalty for not being insured.

The GOP is so pathetic. When Obama was POTUS, there was zero chance he would sign any of the many bills that would repeal his “signature” achievement. So GOP had perfect cover to thump their chests, carry on about repeal, and pretend. Now they bring us this abomination of a bill that replaces subsidies with tax credits Andy tightens the screws for non-compliance.

The snakes have truly revealed what they are.

“I haven’t heard anyone explain why it would be impossible to revert back to basically right before Obamacare and start from there.”

OK, that’s the right question. Let’s discuss.

Why do you think Obamacare (and Romneycare before it) happened? What were the forces that made it possible?
