University of North Carolina men's basketball head coach Roy Williams doesn't seem to be a fan of US President Donald Trump's Twitter activity.
After UNC beat Miami 78-53 on Thursday in the ACC Tournament, Williams was asked about the impact of the tournament taking place in New York could have on recruiting or media attention. The question was seemingly in reference to a rant from Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim on Wednesday on the importance of the tournament being held in a big city, as opposed to Greensboro, North Carolina.
Williams said because of the impact of social media, it's less important to play in a big market. In the process, he took a swipe at Trump

I take offense at that comment. Playing 2-3-4 times a week (rec ball) and enjoy watching a competitive game at any level from schoolyard pickup to pro. Just because some degenerates love it as I do does not make the SPORT degenerate!

I sometimes preface my criticism of anyone or anything by qualifying myself either as well-informed of the subject or less.
This Williams character is an easy read. A black man who doesn’t like our white President. A basketball coach who doesn’t really care about politics and just says things to get face time. And one of millions of people who have no idea their minds were built by other people.
The best thing about life is that we don’t live forever. I’ve had enough loony liberal nonsense for two lifetimes and I’m only 57.

I pull for Carolina and will continue to do so. Carolina did talk to quite a few candidates before “trying out” Matt Dougherty and eventually landing Roy Williams. And he has been very successful and need not worry about sniffing anybody’s jock strap. It’s a game. A little reminder also, Dean Smith was quite a coach but he was also a staunch Democrat and very involved in state politics. It wasn’t fun (as a Carolina fan) seeing Coach Smith in commercials on TV and on the radio, campaigning for liberals here in NC.
The dirty little “secret” (well, not really a secret) is the extremely liberal snowflake campus down the street in Durham puts up with very conservative Coach K only because he continues to win. I guess there is only one thing more important than politics at Duke. And that is beating Carolina.
As for tonight... Go Heels! :-)
I don’t remember specifics now, but I recall Roy turning the NCAA on Wichita State for something when he was at KU. Anyone from the state of Kansas remember what that was about?
