"Trump’s election victory wasn’t a once-in-a-generation election. It was once-in-a-century, or once-in-history. Republicans have one, brief chance to correct the course the U.S. is heading down and bind up all of the wounds inflicted on Americans over the decades."

I think they screw this up and the next expression of anger might not be through the vote.

You mean he had a budget to keep the government functioning — so that your parents got their Social Security checks on time? Ya, he did that.

Oh you wanted a budget that did Soc Sec but didn’t fund Obamacare? That would have needed 60 votes in the Senate. Actually 66, to override the veto.

Remember what happened last time the GOP Congress and Dem President shut down the govt? Who got blamed?

We’ll have to wait and see what President Trump says at his rally in Tenn.

It just could be that he is letting RINO RYAN take his best shot and then President Trump will finish him off...

Repeal and Replace is what Trump campaigned on and he hasn’t let us down on one thing yet...

Yep. It sounded like a threat to me.

Also being spouted: If we don’t take this opportunity to “repeal” O-care, we won’t have another chance.

Welcome to the REAL WORLD, Ryan.

Thanks for showing how far left you are. Government shutting down used to be the norm until its recent out-of-control growth under that last president who increased the national debt more than every other president who preceded him.

What the HELL do you not understand about 60 votes vs 51? Why is this hard to understand? Were you cognizant in 2010? Or even before that, when the left wing base INSISTED that the Dem Congress cut off funding for GW Bush’s troops in Iraq.

They didn’t do it. You can’t shut down everything for your base. Everything kills Soc. Sec. checks for your parents.

Ryan is 100% right about this. He has understood what Pelosi did not in 2010. You Have To Have 60 votes. And they DID. They had 60 votes, but 1 of them died. You have to have even more than 60 because some will not agree.

Ryan is 100% right about this. This is the closest we will get to gutting Obamacare. And it DOES do that. It does it with 51 votes, and AT MOST, we have 52. Not the 60 the Dems had in 2009.

Every single one of you know this is the closest we’re going to get. We’re not going to have 60 votes anytime imaginable.

Trump is NOT A CONSERVATIVE. He’s a populist. He is telling companies to bring jobs back to where it will cost them more. That’s not conservatism. He’s talking about big infrastructure spending with the deficit already $600 Billion, and the debt $20 Trillion. That’s not conservatism.

But thank God, he’s in favor of gutting Obamacare. Ryan’s approach will do it with the tiny majority we have (that may not get bigger, you can’t know, it’s 8 fewer than the Dems had just 7 yrs ago). Repeat . . . TINY MAJORITY. We don’t have the votes to do more, and if we don’t do it now, it may never get done.

The intent of the Ryan Congress has always been the status quo on the D/GOPe welfare-warfare state. They may throw us a few crumbs on things like cc reciprocity, but there are to be few other meaningful changes. I will be very surprised if the R house caucus stands up to him.

You’ll never get better than this. And you know it.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Same thing they told us about the amnesty bill of 2006
and the amnesty bill of 2007

and the amnesty bill of 2013.

Better to not pass anything than pass a bill that makes Obamacare into Trumpcare with a 2020 showdown just in time to cost him re-election.

Almost like it was designed to assure his defeat.

Having had some time to digest Rino Care , I am convinced it will fail. I am not so sure that these rinos don’t want it to fail. WE DON”T WANT TO PAY FOR OTHER PEOPLES HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS! Get that through your fat rino heads.Tax credits my ass!! I don’t want to pay for someone eases preexisting dread disease!!! That is like selling car insurance after the damned wreck!!!wreck— Why penalize me with higher premiums for someone who is already sick? Explain that to me— and pay for someone else’s insurance premiums? That is bull crap. Have you RINOs lost your damned minds!!
Did you know that those bastards are not even allowing conservative amendment? You can;t make that up.

Rush signed on to my idea today. Go free market for people who work and have something like VA for the rest. That may be two classes on care but I notice that we have classes on cars and classes on clothes and restaurants. WORK HARD AND MOVE UP!! Otherwise this is just MARXISM!! Rinos can GO TO HELL!!

Dood, it’s like you can’t read. The proposal won’t kill anything til 2020 anyway, so since you’re in favor of keeping Obamacare, you get your wish past the election.

“[The New Deal] conceived of the federal government as the whole people organized to do what had to be done.”

— Dean Acheson, from “A Democrat Looks at His Party”, 1955

“[I]f a job has to be done to meet the needs of the people, and no one else can do it, then it is the proper function of the federal government.”

— Arthur Larson, from “A Republican Looks at His Party”, 1956
People had better not be surprised after 62 years of this kind of back-and-forth.

Cruz’s suggestion is that Pence can overrule the Senate parliamentarian, who the GOPe haven’t chosen to replace (another approach they could and should take), so they have a Democrat appointee threatening to put the brakes on their legislation.

But really none of the crap in this bill—which covers most tenets of Obamacare, from forcing insurers to provide coverage for children up to age 26 on policies without charge, doesn’t allow insurance companies to set prices and turn down customers by underwriting standards, provides and actually extends up the income scale big subsidies for healthcare, and continues for several years Obamacare’s expansion of Medicaid.

But apparently Pence or a new parliamentarian could make a more complete, straight Obamacare repeal passable under reconciliation, so with 51, as opposed to 60, votes in the senate.

Hadn’t heard that. So Rush is pushing a single payer plan for all those not in the workforce. Have you seen the Labor Participation Rate lately and its plummet?

You guys aren’t conservatives. You’re just ranting to rant.
