OK, for this story about eating human brains CNN could blame a a small number of rogue employees. But CNN has been irresponsible for many years before this. Take their Dec. 2016 Russian hacking article,

"Intel analysis shows Putin approved election hacking"

At he bottom the CNN text admits But neither of the sources said they knew of specific intelligence that directly ties Putin to the attack.

My favorite CNN moment is when a prissy little leftist female from CNN interviewed Ms. Hopkins of the U K Daily Mail. Hopkins had the CNN chick stuttering with anger. Then Hopkins says to her: “ You aren’t going to turn off the news feed, are you? “
