We can guess your age based on your taste in music

You are 74 years old
Right now you’re probably wondering why we forgot to mention Frank Sinatra. Fair point.

Listing Frank Sinatra may have been a fair point. So would listing Mitch Miller, Pete Fountain, Al Hirt, Herb Alpert, Al Jarreau, Tony Bennett, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Eddie Fisher, Mike Oldfield, or Chip Davis. I’d probably still have come in at 74 years old. Oh well...

Just shows you we “74 year olds” have better taste in music. LOL!

We’re getting close to that time, too. Nana turns 62 in August and she is bound and determined to be on SS by then!

We have found what ‘du said to be true. We can go to the SSA office in Douglas and sit around and wait to be seen; or we can go online (like my boss did) and sign up for the benefits.

I’d stopped by the SS office when I started getting all kinds of stuff in the mail. They said the same - it could be done online or I could make an appointment to do it there. I opted to make the appointment. I just prefer in-person since I have questions about Medicare. With luck, I won’t have to wait long with the appointment. If we lived in a large city, it might be different but this is Podunk Nowhere. :-)

Amen! Where are the BIG bands?

Tommy Dorsey is a fav.

My brother says I’m not old enough for big band music and that I’m turning into our Dad, rest his soul.

Small town offices can be a good thing.
My boss got a surprise with his first Medicare premium - he told me they set the premium based on the prior year’s income. He got them to adjust it downward after explaining that he had taken a large sum of money from his IRA to pay off his house, and that his income from salary was far less than they thought.

They’ve told me how much would be withheld from my SS check to pay the Plan B premium already. I’m going to ask about it again tomorrow. It’s on the list of questions I have.

Said I’m 74, I’m 58. Had they asked about Cab Calloway, Louis Jordan or any number of old, fat, dead, black, blues singers they may have declared me dead.

Hmmm. The quiz guessed me at 34, but I'm 52. Guess I'm not so set in my ways. Oh yeah, and Def Leppard is my idea of a "boy band". For one thing, they're actually a band, not a bunch of singing clowns.
