Largely that’s a good reason not to risk the filibuster rule — you never know what you’re going to get.
And no, you misunderstood. It’s not Mitch pushing through the new judge to the USSC. It’s Mitch having the balls not to even hold hearings for Obama’s pick. That was the most magnificent accomplishment any majority leader has ever achieved. He gambled and won, because Hillary might have gone even further left with her pick.
Evidently, that was never in his play book.At least from the view we got through White House windows as The potus reamed out Bannon and Priebus while his kids looked on. Some serious stuff was laid out by the potus accd. to numerous reports and window views. He was not happy. He made Bannon and Priebus stay in Washington and told them to work over the weekend while he went to Fla. They were scheduled to go with him but he told them not to.
There are also a few other sites that have had little good to say about Priebus,Bannnon, Pence and others in the adm.Lame Cherry being one of the most outspoken but with great arguments as well.
As far as the healthcare thing goes Rand Paul gave the best summary as found over at Breitbart. It's here:
...............
Rep. Meadows recalled for reporters that he campaigned alongside then-candidate Donald Trump during the presidential election. He said that talk of repeal meant to many that the entire bill would be repealed. Both Meadows and Jordan spoke of getting rid of Obamacare completely and bringing down health-care costs for Americans
Jordan told reporters:
Tomorrow I will introduce the bill that every single Republican voted on just 15 months ago, the bill that actually repeals Obamacare. Our plan has always been repeal in one piece of legislation, replace in the other and that replacement we talked about a few weeks ago is the bill sponsored by [Rep.] Dr. [Rand] Paul in the Senate and [Rep.] Mark Sanford in the House.
He went on to summarize and differentiate three different replacement plans.
The first he named was the Cassidy-Collins plan, which he defined as essentially the plan to keep Obamacare.
The second Jordan named was the House Leadership plan, which I believe when you look through it, is Obamacare in a different form.
The third he named as our plan, as he spoke alongside members of the House Freedom Caucus. He said of this third plan that it is the one that I think is consistent with what we told the voters we were gonna do.
Repeal Obamacare, replace it with a market-centered, patient-centered, doctor-centered plan that actually brings down the cost of insurance, brings down the cost of healthcare.
Member after member denounced the House Leadership plan to replace Obamacare as unacceptable based on what they promised to the American people. Sen. Mike Lee, Rep. Louie Gohmert, Rep. Mark Sanford, Rep. Dave Brat, and Sen. Rand Paul were among those who also spoke at the Tuesday afternoon House Freedom Caucus press conference.
They need to just repeal Obamacare through reconciliation. That’s it.
Personally I don’t know that there was a big flap between the staff just because that’s what it looked like through the windows of the oval. That being said, these are growing pains for a group of wonderful brilliant people that have never served in gov’t before. And if President Trump was angry I’m sure it was justified. And also, on some level anger is almost always fear-based which would make sense considering everybody and their mother is going after him on every single front every single day!!
Re that press conference of Rand Paul and freedom caucus they need to chill out a bit imo and be part if the conversation toward resolution.
.@RepDaveBrat after HFC meeting on GOP health plan: "I think the current bill as it stands is dead"
I think having the RINOs and lobbyists put out their bill for everyone to shoot at was a good choice by Trump.
So why would the Freedom Caucus have a different plan if this one is so amazing? Did he utter the word trust me and I will respect you in the morning?
I know enough to hate the whole idea. Money that is printed coming into the economy interest bearing guarantees there can never be enough in circulation to pay off the debt. Won't matter soon because paper currency will soon disappear quickly followed by coins. No one will have a clue what they are doing with currency because it will just reside in a computer somewhere else.
