Mexico launches nationwide effort in US to help migrants ($50 Million Dollar Legal Fund)

Not only is the Mexican government not building a wall; it's spending $50 million to beef up its legal aid to migrants who fear deportation, a response to President Donald Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration.

All 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S. on Friday launched legal assistance centers to form partnerships with nonprofit groups and tap lawyers to help those fearing Trump's policies.

SNIP--

Miami's Mexican consul general, Jose Antonio Zabalgoitia, said Friday that these centers would become "authentic advocates of the rights of Mexican migrants."

"What changes today is that we are prioritizing legal matters over everything. Previously, we didn't have the need to seek so much legal support for our people," he said. "But now, we need to protect them against an eventual deportation."

Not sure I believe that “they only speak English’ nonsense. I live in the Central Valley of California where there are millions of them. They seem to only speak Spanish to me. At least that’s what I hear 24/7 everywhere I go.

Illegal alien invaders are not “migrants”. When the Nazis invaded Poland, nobody considered them as being “migrants”. This “migrant” bull**** has gotten out of hand. The Mehicans need to take their 50 million bucks and set up a food stamp program in Mehico.

Mexico wouldn’t be spending a dime if they were NOT getting huge $$$ benefits from the current system.
Plus they get to dump criminals in the USA and don’t have to pay to imprison them.

I hope in my lifetime we invade that 3rd world ceasepool and civilize it. What an absolutely useless country.

We had our chance in 1848 and blew it (because we couldn't see the future :-) )

IMO, if we had stayed there, Mexico would be as prosperous as Texas clear down to the Guatamalan border.

President Trump should expel 90% of Mexico's embassy staff for interfering in our political process. Furthermore there is no good reason for Mexico to have more than 1 embassy and maybe 6 to 7 consulates. Right now Mexico has their main embassy and D.C. and 45, yes 45, consulates spread across the country. Our closest ally, sister nation, and largest investor the UK has only 1 embassy and 11 consulates. They need to be shut down.

At $50 million or even ten times that, it will be cheaper for Mexico to try to keep them here than to repatriate them. Shows you how ‘valuable’ they are as citizens.

I’m sure I won’t be the first to ask why they don’t use the money to help their citizens come home and have a decent life in their own country.

They are protecting the $26 billion in remittances sent to Mexico by Mexicans illegally in this country.
$50 million is worth spending to keep the billions flowing.
Remittances have surpassed oil as the #1 source of revenue.

$50 million is only $1 per illegal, thereabouts. Maybe up it to a few hundred bucks apiece for the actual Mexicans and its still WAY short. Hopefully they flood it quick

Mexico has like 50 consulars in the US. Close all of them except one and make that one in the least convenient place for them.

$50 million is nothing for Mexico compared to the $27 BILLION that is sent back to Mexico from Mexicans in the US in the form of remittances each year.

Disgusting. Our social services are ALSO being exhausted and we get NOTHING for that, either.

Do you happen to have a source/link for that? TIA.

Tax the hell out of the remittance money going to Mexico from the U.S. At least it will recoup some of the money spent by our social services on illegal aliens, and maybe encourage some illegals to return home.

50 mil would go a way toward paying what they owe for the wall.

It would have amounted to five American dollars each.

A 50 million dollar fund will probably last about 60 days or less seeing the number of cases that will come to fruition with ICE fully active.

WHY do I say this... lawyers aren't cheap!
