Now that the gloves are off and the shackles untied, what would you think about Trey Gowdy from SC taking this on?

I would like to know who you would trust to go forward on this.

Once committed to a congressional investigation Trey Gowdy is probably the obvious choice.

Very important, however, is the role and character of the committee counsel who will be doing most of the actual work. If I had my way, questioning would be not 5 min. per individual but one hour and the Republicans would assign their questioning to the committee counsel who is a real pro and who would, presumably, not be grandstanding for the folks at home but pursuing the investigation in a coherent manner.

But the politicians are only secondarily interested in pursuing the truth and primarily interested in enhancing their reputations so they will never surrender the limelight to some counsel.
