Star Wars actor Riz Ahmed gave some advice on how to fight the terror group ISIS.
During a Thursday speech to Channel 4's annual diversity lecture in Parliament, Ahmed urged television producers to embrace diversity and have more Muslim representation, or young people will feel alienated and will be more vulnerable to joining extremist groups.
"If we fail to represent, we are in danger of losing people to extremism," Ahmed said.
"In the mind of the Isis recruit, hes the next James Bond right? Have you seen some of those Isis propaganda videos, they are cut like action movies," he continued. "Where is the counter narrative? Where are we telling these kids they can be heroes in our stories, that they valued?"
Ahmed recently starred in Rouge One: A Star Wars Story as the defected imperial pilot Bodhi Rook. He has appeared on HBO's "The Night Of" and "Girls."
The actor took the opportunity to focus his criticism at the British television industry. He told the audience if he wanted to work, he would have to go across the ocean to the United States.
"It takes American remakes of British shows to cast someone like me," Ahmed said. "We end up going to America to find work. I meet with producers and directors here and they say we dont have anything for you, all our stories are set in Cornwall in the 1600s.'"
Ahmed suggested that the government should take action to help solve the problem of diversity in British television. He suggest that the government withhold funds until there is minority representation.
Ping
Puh-leaze.......
Always looking for excuses right?
ROTFL! This IS satire, right?
Put Muslims on TV to spread the propaganda ?
WTF is this, a threat?
Stick to taun taun shagging Ahmed.
There A$$ from a hole in the ground...................
Then let them join ISIS, and we will kill them.
Well, at least we have an actor who is praising America rather than damning it. I guess.
This...this TWIT(damn, almost misspelled that one!) is one of those airhead thirty somethings infesting Washington and responsible for crap like obozocare. It will take multiple decades to get those protected by the idiotic Civil Service regs OUT OF GOVERNMENT.
And reliable sources in the State Department Human Resources Office report that Marie's full last name is, in fact, HARFWIT but Hillary suggested she shorten it lest it diminish her credibility as the department's spokesperson.
And this just in: It's reported that Marie is moving over to the Labor Department to run the just created Jobs for Jihadis Program!
Are we screwed or what?
I guess we should be relieved that this moron is no longer an "analyst" at the CIA (which explains a LOT about what's wrong over there). Well, it appears that to offset their "Fair and Balanced" coverage of Trump's campaign, FOX may have gone 'round the bend! Hiring Harf will require them to change their motto to "Fairly Unbalanced". I'm ashamed to admit that this -- this "person" -- comes from south, central Ohio not far from my father's home town of Coshocton!
I vote for this plan.
Meesa think he big stupid.
(This was the guy who played Jar-Jar - certainly someone to take advice from on what types of characters should be put into TV and movies...)
Ok so appease muslims to keep them from joining ISIS and terrozing because ISIS has nothing to do with Islam which is a religion of peace....
Why do these people always demand someone else DO for them? Oscars so white and all that?
Why don’t you create your own entertainment industry and stop demanding time on someone else’s.
Not to mention, why don’t you do that in YOUR country too while you’re at it!
How about Muslims quit casting blame, evolve, and join the civilized world.

Lol
The headline is terrible, what he actually said is kind of right. The mainstream isn’t talking to them, ISIS is. People will listen more to somebody actually talking to them.
Cave to extortion? Nope.
