Tom Hanks has given nearly $200,000 to Democrats
In an apparent attempt to gain favor with reporters covering President Donald Trump, prominent Democratic donor Tom Hanks has purchased a luxury espresso machine for the White House Press Corps.
The gift from Hanks, who recently played a leading role in Inferno (19 percent on Rotten Tomatoes), was received by the reporters at the White House on Thursday.
Though on the surface the gift appears to be an act of kindness, it is difficult to ignore his partisan intent.
Hanks has contributed nearly $200,000 to Democratic candidates and committees over the years, including thousands to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. He also participated in the "thank you" montage that the White House produced in Obama's final weeks.
Hanks was also awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom by Obama last November along with numerous other Democratic donors.
The espresso machine, which appears to be a $2,219 Pasquini Livia G4 Auto PID, was accompanied with a note from Hanks urging reporters to "keep up the good fight."
"Keep up the good fight for Truth, Justice, and the American Way," wrote Hanks. "Especially for the Truth part."
Hanks has previously attacked Trump as a "simplistic, self-involved gasbag."
He also predicted that Trump would become president "right about the time spaceships come down filled with dinosaurs in red capes." The Huffington Post's lifestyle editor noted that Hanks' prediction "nailed it."

That ‘Coffee Machine’ is probably bugged and fitted with remote controlled microphones and cameras. Okay, I’m kidding, sort of.
I still would not keep that machine in any sensitive area.

Poor Hank, he thinks he is “big” but he is still stuck in a juvenile 12 year old head.
So earlier tonight I added Patrick Stewart to the list of actors I will never ever support. He wants to become a US citizen in order to fight Trump?!?! I hope his application is denied!!
I will now make sure Tom Hanks is on this list as well. He thinks the media is going to seek the truth LOL talk about low information voter! I am sure his Hollywood peers think his gesture was really cool—However, I suspect there are a number of disengaged Trump voters who are not aware of Hank’s devotion to the progressive left and their propaganda arm, the media and won’t think his gesture was cool at all! I sure hope this gets lots of coverage!
It would likely be far more efficient for me to simply list the actors I will support.

I use to like Tom Hanks. I would have never taken him for such a dumb @$$. I guess that’s what happens when you achieve fame early on and move out of the real world into a world of fantasy.

What would be illegal about one private citizen buying a gift for another group of private citizens? The only government involvement is the power outlet it is plugged into.
I don’t like the political beliefs of Hanks or the mainstream press, but what they purchase for each other is their own business.
The only thing outrageous is the fact that someone is trying to sell a freaking espresso machine for $2,219 and someone else was stupid enough to buy it.

He’s wasting his money. Almost all of them are partisan Democrats already, and the few who aren’t are not going to change their outlook because of a better-tasting cup of coffee.
We’ve known Hanks is a dim for yrs.
He kept out of overt politics and I would support his works. But..

Liked his portrayal of Capt. Sullenberger in ‘Miracle on the Hudson’.
The last Hanks movie I’ll be spending my money on.
