The best part of the old boy's pathetic "Dem Response Speech" was afterward when CNN's Jake Tapper, looking more DEFLATED than I've ever seen him, was lamenting the fact that the Dems should have had a "new blood" and "up-and-coming" face delivering the requiem.
Tapper looked like a hot air balloon that someone had stuck an arrow into!
For once, I agree with Tapper, it was a terrible mistake by the Demonrats in picking this undertaker to deliver an important speech in front of an audience of millions and millions viewers !

You’re right; a ploy to dupe the temporarily-necessary whites to vote for Dems. Obama’s election showed the culmination of what had begun under BJ Clinton: the purging of WASP values from the Democratic Party on a national level. Those “catholic” Dems that supported ObamaCare were a clear demonstration of the dynamic at work: Using a few well-placed white politicians in less-leftist states & districts to win/keep Congressional majorities while ignoring any centrist or conservative views they (or their constituents) may hold. As long as they vote in lockstep, radical leftists can control the national agenda (and they did for the last 8 years).

Everything about the Democrat Party is old and tired. From their leadership in congress, their presidential candidates and the loser they chose to do the State of the Union rebuttal. Is there any new blood in that party? Beshear’s lifeless speech pretty much summed up how bad a night it was for the Democrat Party.
He’s no longer Governor. The voters thoroughly repudiated his party in 2015 and again in 2016.
