And what is the punishment for those who don't accept the “deal” whatever it might be?
I predict that few will accept it without some form of punishment like deportation. Why should they especially if the fines and penalties are large enough.

If true, I think Trump is making deals. He may have to do some of this in order to get support for heavy tax cuts. Paul Ryan does not think we can afford heavy tax cuts, because we will reduce revenue by sharply reducing certain available workers. I can live with it. So long as the illegals and the criminals continue to be deported or imprisoned. Such a partial move may also dilute the strength of the opposition.
