Hundreds of companies are lining up to bid on building President Trumps controversial border wall.
As of Tuesday evening, 225 companies mostly construction and engineering firms have expressed interest in building the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, according to a website for contractors interested in doing business with the federal government.

Taco Bell. Run for the border.
Abrams and Bradley AFVs (assuming any Bradley’s are left) on patrol.
Let the 120 and 30mm cannons reach out and touch someone.
..... We should probably expect that once construction begins the Democrats and GOPe will try to stop the building of the wall by sinking it in a quagmire of Soros funded massive protests and riots at the sites as well as lawsuits and fabricated discrimination, abuse and possibly even accident incidents that will require constant investigations from here to kingdom come.
Woot!!!
You got that right!
Seriously, I hope the Israelis get involved.
“What Buried? That’s what abandoned mine shafts aere for. “
And wood chippers.... oops.
“Give each one of these companies a section of the wall to build simultaneously and get the darned thing built quickly. The problem would be getting massive amounts of concrete and American rebar,I-beams, etc. to the sites in a timely manner. The mobile home, RV folks will have to get cranked up too, to house the crews.”
Supply chain for this effort will be relatively easy provided no storms pass through. I think the challenges will be logistics for resourcing, housing and food. But then again, I would almost be certain that ranchers would be more than willing to cough up some acreage for a couple of years in return for a nice stipend.
I WANT the Israelis wall too, except in gold of course!!!!
“Give the top 12 different start points, pay by the mile, and let them race!”
Bonuses paid to the three top companies who finish ahead of schedule and with perfect quality scores.
“Hire the Israelis”
Were you aware that they were seriously considering making a bid to build our wall ..??
When their Prime Minister Netanyahu was here recently, that comment was seen in the media.
The left would have a cow ..!!! which is why I would love to see it.
“most of the border not fenced is in Texas and mostly privately owned.”
You are right of course. Texas is the hard part of the border, because of terrain, treaties over Rio Grande construction, urban areas that straddle the border, local political opposition, and lots of private property and use (like watering cattle).
Fortunately, this Administration did not just fall off the turnip truck, and seems to have a serious plan. The cost estimate was recently raised more than fifty percent, mainly to compensate private owners for their land.
The last law authorizing border barriers included eminent domain authorization, and waived environmental impact statements. The next should too. The last time, they took some land swiftly, and hashed it out in court later. The Government certainly has the authority to do so this time as well - but much more is (planned to be) budgeted to make it right with the landowners this time.
As far as treaties go, the International Boundary and Water Commission does not really have much impact, except perhaps flood management impacts - not a showstopper, as long as you are building on your side of the border, and not in the River.
Recognizing that the Texas border is the long pole in the tent - toughest, most expensive, and highest trafficked - the Administration is prioritizing these segments first, to get it done. Three phases have been announced. The first two will address the big urban areas (El Paso, San Diego, Laredo) and the Rio Grande Valley Sector (McAllen, Brownsville), as well as some high traffic rural areas. Phase three is the long rural stretches, where you have long timeframes to detect and interdict.
The plan (as described by Homeland Security Secretary Kelly) is to get the highest value and hardest parts done within two years. That will require a very large and very visible construction effort in those border cities. The contracting process has started. Proposals from vendors are due in a week, with pricing due by 24 March.
Completing a continuous barrier from sea to sea would just be gravy - but the great bulk of stopping infiltration will be accomplished by the first two phases.
...”Soros funded massive protests and riots at the sites”
Just herd protestors to south of wall then slam the door!!
Anyone know some good concrete and cement mixer companies to buy stock in?
The Chinese walls were not effective for stopping major invasions. Their greatest use was as fast transport roads in very difficult terrain so the troops in the barracks could get to trouble spots quickly.
Maybe we can take a page from history and do something similar to what the Chinese did with their YUUUGE wall: bury into the wall the bodies of those leftists who die of traumatic exhaustion from protesting against an America that prefers to protect itself from invasion.
We can always build the wall north of the obstinate.
Good details. I’m impressed...
.50 M2 HB One round for range and fire for effect!
East German STAZIs have a lot of experience manning a wall and they are not too particular who they shoot!
