Yep, old timer’s blood sugar probably dropped on him, and he ran right over them. Or possibly incipient dementia took over.
One time we were leaving church and one of the white hair ladies by the name of Ruth was driving her car behind us in the parking lot as everybody was departing. Once we got to the main highway, I had to stop due to traffic, but Ruth had no intention of stopping and ran into the back of our car. I got out and asked what was going on, and she basically had nothing to say. Damage was minimal, so I went on. I spoke to some other church members and told them what happened, but I don’t know if she was ever checked out for competency to drive. I just hope neither she nor anybody else later got hurt in a bad accident.
