A longtime GOP operative is asking Congress to investigate whether or not Russia is behind the murder of a young Democratic National Committee staffer.
Seth Rich, 27, was fatally shot in the back while walking home alone in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of D.C. in the early hours of July 10 last year. At the time of his death, he was working as a data analyst for the DNC.
Eight months on, there are no leads and no suspects in the homicide investigation. DC police have said nothing was stolen from Rich and that the murder was a botched robbery.
Now, GOP lobbyist and DC lawyer Jack Burkman has formally appealed to Congress to investigate following new evidence he says he's obtained that Russia may be behind Rich's murder.
While Burkman is reluctant to elaborate, he revealed he was recently contacted about the investigation by a man claiming to be a former U.S. intelligence officer. The source is an older man, 65-70 years old, who claims to have been a contractor in Iraq in the 1970s, he revealed.
'The source has claimed that it [the murder] was arranged by the Russian government at a very high level,' Burkman said.
'He didn't specify who or how. He just said he had knowledge it was arranged by the Russian government and stressed that it was at a high level.'
He added: 'I've met this person and he seems very credible. We're now investigating the allegations he has made.'
Burkman believes the source will cooperate with the investigation. He is wary about revealing too much and has hired a private security firm to protect his family.

“Is this a Evan McMuffin/John McCain op?”
Deep State, Podesta, Soros, ... all of the above?!
Wow. That isn’t bad. Gotta cover for hitlery somehow.
Makes no sense. The hack was supposedly known about a month before he was killed. Are we to believe that he kept all his knowledge of the hack to himself and discussed it with none of his coworkers or supervisors? If a tech guy learned of such a thing, he definitely should have informed others of it and asked for help in verifying what he suspected.
And how would the Russians have learned what specific individual might have come across the supposed hack of the DNC?

This guy isn't to be trusted. He's definitely not on the level.
If only Preet Bharara had jurisdiction over this case.

DC Lobbyist Behind Campaign To Solve Seth Rich Murder Mystery
TED GOODMAN
01/07/2017
A Washington, D.C. lobbyist is offering the largest reward in D.C. history for the unsolved murder of Seth Rich, a Democratic National Committee (DNC) staffer gunned down over the summer.
Attorney Jack Burkman is offering $105,000 of his own money for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. The D.C. Metropolitan Police is offering a $25,000 reward, and WikiLeaks announced it is also offering $20,000 for any information that leads to a conviction in the murder of Rich.
Rich, 27, was the voter expansion data director at the DNC, according to Roll Call; he was employed for two years. Rich also worked on a computer application to help voters locate polling stations.
According to police reports, officers patrolling the Bloomingdale neighborhood heard gunshots at around 4:20 a.m. on the morning of July 10, 2016. Officers discovered a conscious and breathing Rich on the 2100 block of Flagler Place NW.
Police have not yet solved the case, but surmised that Rich was a victim of a botched robbery. Police said that they found his wallet, credit cards and cellphone on his body. The band of his wristwatch was torn but not broken. The theory is that the shooters panicked after shooting Rich, and so they immediately fled the scene.
Burkman is representing the family in a pro-bono capacity, because the objective here really is just to get closure for this family. This is a young kid in our profession. This could have happened to any of the young people who work for me.
He has been working with the Rich family to keep attention on the case, and held a press conference with the parents Nov. 21, 2016, pleading with the public for help.
Earlier this week, he announced plans to launch a public campaign which will include a billboard and bus benches to keep the murder in the public conscience.
The murder attracted widespread attention because of Richs position with the DNC and the current political climate. Burkman said that if he does not keep the attention on the case, it will just become another cold case in the D.C. police files.
It is simply amazing these people will poke the bear to the point of risking all our lives just to direct the conversation away from the Clintonistas.
FWIW, I don’t have 100% confidence in Preet.
If there were any way possible Podesta could find a way to pin this on the Russians or Trump, Seth Rich would be a household name. Instead, his name is as unknown as Foster’s and other arkancides.
That Brazile even brought up threatened staffers yesterday tells me something is about to break in the case and she needs to get out in front of it for when rat voters become aware of Seth. In the meantime, I hope his girlfriend is in WPP.
Sounds like this Burkman guy is a friend of Egg McMuffin.

Those clever Russians disguised the hit as a hit knowing no one would suspect it was a hit if it looked exactly like a hit.

SETH RICHS DEATH: WHY A GOP LOBBYIST WILL PAY $100,000 TO LEARN WHO KILLED THE DNC STAFFER
BY MAX KUTNER ON 9/16/16
Updated | Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman is offering $100,000 for information into the unsolved killing of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich. The 27-year-old was gunned down while walking home from a Washington, D.C., bar in the early hours of July 10. Right-wing conspiracy theorists later suggested DNC officials were behind it and that Rich played a role in leaking party emails.
Now Burkman hopes to confirm or deflate those rumors. There are too many dimensions of the tragedy, and none seem to make sense, the lobbyist said in a statement Wednesday. I hope the $100,000...will finally get to the truth of what happened here and will either debunk the conspiracy theories or validate them.
Burkman is a political consultant, a talk radio show host and founder of the lobbying firm JM Burkman & Associates. He is a Republican but has publicly opposed Donald Trumps candidacy.

Burkman isnt a no-name lobbyist. Though he appears on cable news less frequently these days than he used to, his firm had a big growth in clients this past year.
He is also not necessarily the best person to wage a fight over decency and morality. A few years back, his name was reportedly found on the D.C. madams list of clients of high-end prostitutes.
Thanks for all the information. This is definitely not a good guy.
While they’re at it— who gave the stand down order in Benghazi and let’s have the truth about the gun running in Fast and Furious.
And, how about the truth about Extortion 17, the shoot down of Seal Team Six!

Should it not be an investigation into who murdered him?
And shouldn’t Schultz and Brazile be the ones demanding justice?
GOP operative working for who? McCain, Romney, Bush Clan, etc.?
