This year is a corn year for us and even though we use a drought-hardy variety, it still needs more water than soybeans. As Aunt Clara likes to say (over and over and over again. lol) to be a farmer, one needs to be a gambler.
Thanks!!
So many heroes...so little time!
I say she’s right. I had wheat/cotton farmers in my family and it was the same with them.
I am not tough enough for that life of uncertainty!
Today has gone pretty well. I FINALLY finished the project that I wanted finished last week. And I got a few little projects done as well. NO major issues with Mom, and she only wanted an ice cream novelty for dinner.
I found these before Christmas and she really likes them, so I have several boxes in the freezer
And now she's in her room watching TV...after telling me I need to get away from the computer. *sigh*
Quiet kitties at your house?
Any light shows in the offing?
She and Charlie must have a fun time together, running and chasing, and chasing and running.
Good evening/morning, ML...((HUGS))...hope you and Penny were able to get out and stretch your legs.
Are you getting to the BIG dog park every day?
Hi Kathy! Thanks for another inspiring bio!
It can be nerve-wracking at times but after living in large cities for several years, then moving to this farm, I couldn’t go back to city life for any reason. Nothing like being surrounded by acres of green fields during summer.
But it is a gamble. Sometimes ya win, sometimes ya lose.
Glad you finally had a day you could get things accomplished. You had a pretty rough week with your mom.
Oh MAN!!!! I haven’t seen those ice cream goodies yet! I need to pay closer attention. I just go straight to the Breyer’s section when I need more ice cream.
Those look reeeeeeeeeally good!
Kitties have calmed down temporarily. Building up steam for the next round I guess. LOL! The new moon fires them up like the full moon does and they were quite bratty earlier.
Might get some storms through here Wed. They aren’t sure about the timing or how extensive the area will be that gets hit.
I see y’all have another freezing fog tonight. That’ll make the streets a lot of “fun” tomorrow .... as if y’all needed it.
We thank you for your service to our country.
I think I’d love to have a house away from the noise of the city. I’m ready for that. Earlier, I would have been bored and would have missed going shopping, to movies, etc.
I don’t need that stuff anymore. The only thing I’d insist on is WIFI! LOL!
Such a huge worry...coyotes. A Mom’s work is never done.
You are a great protector.
God Bless you good, Mac. *HUGS* Good night and rest well.
Thanks for helping honor our troops, past and present.
Thank you for your service to our country.
There are movie theaters, restaurants, and stores for shopping around here. LOL! Not as plentiful as in large cities but they’re here.
It was fun being in the cities for a while but I was ready for the quiet od farm life when I moved here. Now I couldn’t even live in one of the small towns here. Having neighbors within a few feet would drive me crazy. We have one neighbor and that’s Hubby’s cousin. His house is a good distance from ours.
Yeah, having to worry about coyotes is no fun at all. We all strongly resent the wildlife bunch for bringing more back to the area after farmers spent years eradicating them. The vile creatures wreak havoc on livestock as well as pets. grrrrr!
Thanks, unique, for the Cheshire guys.
Pro.....#50!!
