Bless this family and the son who all sacrificed so much for our Republic.
However, it is the lot of ‘boots on the ground’ to never understand all the decisions made by their military leaders. Some of those are good. Some of those are bad. Many of them will rightly remain forever unknown to the general public and family members.

I suspect the dad made some comments, they became public and the media has blown this up into politics for what otherwise would have been a dad grieving the loss of a child in combat

Dad should honor and respect his son’s life and memory,...rather than seek his own 15 minutes...sad eulogy to a wonderful man.
So sad to loss a son. I can’t blame him for whatever feelings he is initially going thru. However, I would not have handled it the way he did.

The man’s son signed up for one of the most dangerous careers in the service.It was his son’s choice,he understood the risks involved.The father needs to accept this.
So how is it that our President is hiding behind this fallen soldier? How many soldiers killed during the past 8 years did soetoro got to the families to show respect...I read the whole article and ...well I will just leave it that I am glad our Commander in Chief went to pay his respects to the Owens family...some of the family met with President Donald J. Trump....my condolences to this family.
I read that elsewhere, too. If finding out in some depth is even possible, I hope it exposes some of our professional leakers within the intelligence community.
I still can’t believe that “Scooter Libby” got railroaded into the federal pen for what he said about a publicly openly known former CIA analyst.
