I agree—Ivanka, especially, is a major issue. We all gagged with the Clinton talk of a two-for-one presidency from the Clintons. But at least Hillary was copacetic with the philosophy of her husband and the voters who put him in office.
Ivanka is a screaming leftist, trying to muck up her father’s agenda (e.g., tax cuts) with her ill-informed leftist vision (e.g., a half-trillion entitlement to pay the private childcare for parents earning up to $500k per year) that could undercut the good Trump needs to do soon.
Yes. I wish she would just do some ceremonial things and stay out of policy since she’s obviously a leftist drag on Trump’s agenda.
And I’m female, but she can take her socialist feminist programs and stick it.
“Ivanka is a screaming leftist”
Define “screaming leftist”.
You are forgetting the fact that Ivanka and her husband have assisted the campaign in several ways, He with data base skill and she with an appeal to women (the childcare entitlement you spoke of) which went a long way to silence the “Trump hates women” theme of the left.
This is not to say that you do not have a valid point, the Ivanka family is more left than the president but the president may be in office because of the appeal of his daughter.
Trump has attempted to split the democrat party in several ways, Ivanka and her husband are part of that movement and part of the family. I have come to terms with this, and think the concept is genius. Trump does not have to be all hard right to appeal to me.
I have not seen anything that tells me Ivanka is not for her father’s agenda, or that she does not support him sincerely. However her position in the administration may secure votes that Trump would not have without her.
Maybe we need some more time to see how it works out.
