Barbara Pierce Bush, the daughter of former President George W. Bush, will headline a Planned Parenthood fundraiser next week in Texas, according to a report from the Texas Tribune.

Bush is expected to be the keynote speaker at the Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas's annual Fort Worth fundraising luncheon.

President Bush pushed for anti-abortion policies during his time in the White House, but his wife Laura Bush has supported legal abortion in the past.

The announcement comes amid the continuing debate over federal funding for Planned Parenthood, which provides a variety of reproductive health services to women, including abortions.

Barbara Bush is the CEO and co-founder of Global Health Corps and called Planned Parenthood an "exceptional organization" last year in an interview with the New York Times. Bush also attended an event for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Pari

That’s not NAFTA.

How so? If one was serious with that argument (and I know you are not), one would compare the FTA with Canada with the FTA with Mexico that became NAFTA. The reason people do not is because the argument is hogwash.

The state of our economy was in bad shape because of a lot of things — mortgage loan crisis, 911, etc. However, we would have been better off if W was more fiscally responsible.

I could debate tax issues all not long but this was a thread about something totally different.

I agree. My guess is that you are having a relapse into latent Bush Derangement Syndrome.

I mean, seriously? You post a speech that Bush gave about home ownership? I remember when that was a bedrock conservative principle.

NAFTA was a bad trade deal. Reagan didn’t negotiate it. It came about after his time in office. To say NAFTA is exactly as Reagan would have wanted it is hogwash.

NAFTA is one of the main reasons Donald J. Trump is president.

Again, Bush daughter to headline Planned Parenthood fundraiser.

Well, there ya' go again, to coin a phrase. Let's stick to the facts. Reagan negotiated and signed a free trade agreement with Canada. He is on record with his intention to expand it to Mexico. In order to claim in anything more than a namby-pamby fashion that "NAFTA is not how Reagan would have wanted it" one must compare the two trade agreements and see where they differ, and then surmise that those material differences would have been "unwanted" by Reagan himself. In the decades that have followed, I have yet to see anyone make that argument. Heck, nobody has ever bothered to even look.

In other words, the notion that Reagan would disapprove of NAFTA simply is an article of faith with some people . . . and I should add usually is found with people who do not know that NAFTA was Reagan's idea in the first place.

I drilled into my kids’ heads at an early enough age the evil and reality of abortion. Not risking them getting brainwashed. No more important and fundamental of an issue to get right.

The difference between an idiot like you and Ronald Reagan is he could acknowledge a mistake, learn from it and reverse course. He want a mule headed fool like you. it isn’t 1994 anymore you have no excuse for your stupidity.

Or you could write a check to the gov’t to pay your share of the Bush contribution to the National debt.

Typically, the most vociferous advocates for Planned Parenthood have been ...customers.

In one of the photos of her accompanying this story, the picture chosen made it look like she had a somewhat jaded look on her face.

Food for thought given Bush's Supreme Court picks, and Jeb Bush's less-than-stellar pro-life behaviour in the Terry Schiavo case.

Just sayin' .

I hope that Barbara Pierce Bush is good at raising money for Planned Parenthood because they are going to need it when federal funds are pulled out.

IF there were more pulling out, Planned Parenthood would go out of business.

The Bushes have not been “bad,” they just have not been good. I could have served the twelve years that 41 and 43 did and the country would be no worse or better. In both cases they were the better alternative than Dukakis, Gore or John ‘Effin Kerry. This is the only reason that I see to admire the George Bushes....they beat inferior candidates and kept them out of the White House.

Now, Jeb, the former Governor of Florida is a different case. He did OK as governor but running for president was out of his league.

Barbara Pierce Bush, do you believe in the Commandments?

What about the one that says, “Thou shalt not kill.”??

Planned Parenthood kills babies. Please change your mind.

Sorry uta, the daughter doesn't get a pass. Her pro murder stance is her fault and hers alone. Dad, (W) gets some demerits for not raising her to know just what Planned Parenthood was all about. It is not simply murder it is a foul, tearing apart, sucking out the brain, of an infant who is the perfect example of innocence. PP must be honest and re-brand themselves as Planned Homicide.

They have always been frauds. They seem like Democrat moles sent to destroy the Republican Party from within. GWB was no prize. He proclaimed Islam to be a great religion, put a Koran in the White House, sent many fine young people to die in futile conflicts based on neocon fantasies, and started the flood of Muslim “refugees” coming into the US. I have no use for anyone in the Bush family.

It was Bush or McCain. Then Bush or Gore.

No doubt W would have been preferred to the others.
