I believe the underlying cause of this "Median", i.e. Islamic invasion, is America and other western nations turning their collective backs to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; murdering their unborn, and defiling God's institution of marriage.

Isaiah 13:17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.

Succeeding in defeating Islam will require the favor of the Almighty, I suspect.
