New National Security Advisor doesn't believe in "radical Islamic terrorism"?

President Trump's new National Security Advisor doesn't believe it is "helpful" to say the phrase "radical Islamic terrorism."

President Trump’s newly appointed national security adviser has told his staff that Muslims who commit terrorist acts are perverting their religion, rejecting a key ideological view of other senior Trump advisers and signaling a potentially more moderate approach to the Islamic world.

The adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, told the staff of the National Security Council on Thursday, in his first “all hands” staff meeting, that the label “radical Islamic terrorism” was not helpful because terrorists are “un-Islamic,” according to people who were in the meeting.

This is what I suspected when all the usual screaming leftists were silent about the appointment and people like Morning Joe were gushing over it. If we don't properly identify the enemy (i.e., islam) we have no chance of winning the war.

If true, this constitutes a huge failure in the vetting process and puts McMaster in direct conflict with the President’s world-view and policies.

His opinion on the use of the term “radical Islamic terrorism” is irrelevant.

I’ll go out on a limb here but I agree with the general. There are decent Muslims - a very, very large majority as a matter of fact that are just as stymied as we are about the radicals among them. The radicals prove that their interest is not in pleasing God.

Here’s an idea. Put out the word for a truce. We’ll stop attacking them if they stop their stupidity. Doubt it will work but at least we’re on record as wanting peace with them and the decent Muslims will realize that we don’t hate them.

I notice Trump sets up good guy vs bad guy environment in everything he does. It is good positioning for negotiation.

There may be decent Muslims, but there is no decent Islam.

Islam should not ever be defended in any way whatsoever by any western politician.

I actually think the “radical” is redundant.

You left off the fact that this all stems from an unnamed source as cited by the New York Times. You’ve got lots of people reacting to the Fake News paper of record. You must be so proud.

New National Security Advisor doesn't believe in "radical Islamic terrorism"?

Neither do I. There IS no such thing as "radical Islamic terrorism".

There is only Islam.

The ‘decent’ Muslims you are talking about are actually apostate Muslims.

Not sure where to start here. "Decent Muslims" do nothing to stop the the radicals and therefore there is no difference between the two by complicity.

We’ll stop attacking them if they stop their stupidity.
What? "Stop attacking" is a decision. "Stupidity" is innate. Plus, who is attacking who in the world?

McMaster is an officer that fights and wins. Personally, i will give him plenty of leeway. Perhaps he’s trying to not piss off all 1billion+ muslims as he helps dispatch the cavemen to Hades.

Wretch.
Is he an expert on Islamic theology?
Is he an expert on Islamic history?

Just go down to your local library are read half a dozen books on the region’s history and Islam’s history and you’ve got a good enough understanding of the situation to know that there has always ALWAYS been a radical element to Islam.

The NYT thanks you. Their fake news wouldn’t be nearly so effective without your assistance.
