I don’t think they all do, do they? I don’t remember my grandparents’ turkeys having 2. But I was little so could have just not noticed. LOL!

Very strange! I have seen the occasional one, but not 4 in a row! I’ll bet the kids enjoyed that! :)

All turkey eggs have two yolks. It’s something I picked up from PBS.

I had forgotten that classic from 1968. It goes back to my college radio days in Philadelphia.

I was 20 and just entering advanced ROTC. I was also the music director at the station.

I had this gift for picking hits from unknown artists or people who hadn't had a hit in a long time. This was one of my picks.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

COLE PORTER

CAN-CAN

NAT KING COLE: “I AM IN LOVE”

This 1961 recording gives a taste of what Nat could do with a big band to back him.

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

COLE PORTER

CAN-CAN

VIC DAMONE: “I AM IN LOVE”

Vic was one of the lesser saloon singers of the Fifties and Sixties. But this 1964 recording is a Big Band classic.

Vic Damone: “I Am in Love”

Tune in next week for more Cole Porter and the Great American Songbook.

Became a hit quickly. I liked the keyboard work in the middle.

Bubble Puppy: "Hot Smoke and Sassafras"

Became a hit 9 months after I picked it. The songwriters, Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn, would become significant songwriters in the future.

The Peppermint Rainbow: "Will You Be Staying After Sunday?"

Became a hit a year after I picked it because ABC Records picked it up from its original tiny label.

The O'Kaysions: "Girl Watcher"

Became a hit 6 months after I picked it.

Beverly Bremers: "Don't Say You Don't Remember"

He hadn't had a hit in three years, had two failures, and I knew this would be a hit because Tony Romeo had written it.

Lou Christie: "I'm Gonna Make You Mine"

An unknown group, off the wall, but I knew it would be a hit. It caught immediately.

The Cowsills: "The Rain, the Park and Other Things"

There are more, but these are the ones I remember best from my music director days.
