GOP rep: Protests could derail Republicans' plan to repeal Obamacare

Protests breaking out at GOP town hall meetings could stop Republican lawmakers from fully repealing the Affordable Care Act, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) said on Thursday.

"I don't know if we're going to be able to repeal Obamacare now because these folks who support Obamacare are very active," Brooks said during an interview on "The Morning Show with Toni and Gary" radio program, highlighted by CNN.

"They're putting pressure on congressmen and there's not a counter-effort to steel the spine of some of these congressmen in tossup districts around the country," he continued.

Brooks said that Republican lawmakers might not vote to repeal former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law at all.

"You might see something where they call it a repeal but really it's an amendment," he said.

Don’t bend to the Thugocracy as promulgated from an out-of-work Community Organizer who previously was the occupant of high-value public housing in Washington DC somewhere on Pennsylvania Avenue.

These protests are Soros-funded “Astroturf” demonstrations, sent in by the various “community organizer” agencies, PRETENDING to be aggrieved parties, but are simply agitators meant to disrupt the public discourse.

Some few Republican “conservatives” could be swayed by these tactics. But remember, minorities are minorities for a reason. Other demographics are just more numerous.

The Republicans do not have a plan to repeal Obamacare.

Trump, whether he keeps the GOP around or not, will propose single payer with a private option within six months.

There’s really no other way out of this mess.

The fact the the GOP is a bunch of stinking liars is going to derail America.

I bet the GOP is paying for these protesters themselves.

Rush said Jim Demint recommended the House approve again the last repeal Obamacare bill and send it to the Senate.

After the repeal, pass those measures on which there is agreement, and there are several if not many. There is no need to choke on a be all end all set of measures.

Obamacare won’t be repealed, because it can’t be repealed - or, more exactly, it can’t be repealed without ushering in huge Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate.

Members of Congress don’t know much, but they can count votes like a pimp in a whorehouse can count money.

Yes, the voters “hate Obamacare and want it repealed”. That is absolutely true.

It’s also true that they want the ability to buy insurance for pre-existing conditions, want insurance companies to be forbidden to cancel policies for non-payment, want zero payment at the point of service, want their adult children who are smoking dope in a dive in Oakland to stay covered, want their States to expand Medicaid without taxes going up, and so on.

In other words, the only two things they hate about Obamacare are paying for it, and the name.

Republicans in Congress understand this perfectly well, which is why there’s no plan.

And, not coincidentally, Obamacare (and Romneycare) were the culmination of fifty years of “reform”, all of which had the purpose of destroying the private sector or making it impossible for the private sector to function, except for boob jobs and a few other things. And, by 2009, the mission was largely accomplished.

Obamacare was merely a temporary mop-up operation, until full nationalization was possible.

And now, it is.

Like Nixon to China, Trump will propose single payer within the year. It’s really the only way out at this point.

And before you accuse me of favoring it, realize that it will destroy a lifetime of work for me. I don’t like it - I hate it.

But it’s coming, because it’s what the voters, bless their pointy little heads, want.

Easy way out.

1. Complete repeal.

2. Expand Medicaid to include most of those currently receiving subsidies and have the federal government pick up ALL the tab (no burden on the states)

3. Allow those who currently have insurance and are paying their premiums to keep it as long as they CONTINUE to pay after the 1 & 2 above are done. These people many of which have pre-existing conditions, and would have probably been denied coverage in the past will be grandfathered and aloud to keep their coverage if they can afford it without subsidies and with the rate hicks sure to come.

They control congress because of obamacare. If they don’t repeal it, they will lose control of congress next year, and Trump will be impeached.

Of course people are mad when you take away their free stuff. How many people, who actually pay full fare Obamacare premiums like Obamacare? Anyone? My rates would be outrageous if I bothered buying it.

These people need a wake-up call. The people protesting at the Town Halls are NEVER going to vote for them. The people that will vote for them WON'T if they don't repeal this monstrosity.

Either lead or get out of the way.

Don’t blame paid protestors for your refusal to do your job. You’re simply using them as an excuse. Get a set of balls, and take care of business.
