GOP rep: Protests could derail Republicans' plan to repeal Obamacare

Protests breaking out at GOP town hall meetings could stop Republican lawmakers from fully repealing the Affordable Care Act, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) said on Thursday.

"I don't know if we're going to be able to repeal Obamacare now because these folks who support Obamacare are very active," Brooks said during an interview on "The Morning Show with Toni and Gary" radio program, highlighted by CNN.

"They're putting pressure on congressmen and there's not a counter-effort to steel the spine of some of these congressmen in tossup districts around the country," he continued.

Brooks said that Republican lawmakers might not vote to repeal former President Barack Obama's signature healthcare law at all.

"You might see something where they call it a repeal but really it's an amendment," he said.

Grow a pair, you twit! You were elected to do a job, and that includes dumping Obamacare. If you’re frightened by a few yelling snowflakes, you’re in the wrong line of business.

It’s suppose to be Country First, not the weak-kneed congresspersons’ livelihood. What say the honest taxpayers about all this? The rooms are probably being filled by fully funded leftists or wanna be actors.

Brooks hasn’t seen real protests yet. Fail to repeal Obamacare and you will see and feel protests, congresscritters.

Pull your head out of your butt, Brooks. We the people sent you guys up there specifically to repeal Obamacare and to dismantle the unconstitutional anti-free market socialist regulatory state! Better check the results of every congressional election cycle during the Obama era, er, error. The Republican majority has grown in the house, the senate, the state houses and the majority of the state legislatures thanks to we the fed-up voters. And now we have the presidency, too, and soon the judiciary. No excuses! Do your job or get OUT!

Spineless RINOs took mega money from insurance companies and big pharma and (shhhhhh) want ObamaCare.

In fact, they want Trump to lose and Democrats to run the show.

RINOs are perfectly happy to be the disloyal fake opposition - the Washington Generals of politics.

These protests occur precisely BECAUSE the Left knows the GOP is spineless.

I wrote up a plan myself that would bring coverage to nearly all US citizens and cost Uncle Sam modestly more than the PPACA does:

http://www.freerepublic.com/~briangriffin/

no employer or individual mandates or fines

extraordinary mandatory issue open season - every 4 years, exchange only

employer tax credits for optional annual open seasons

no government coverage scope mandates - only federal subsidy cutbacks

hospital block grants to help exceptional cases with premium payments

80% maximum federal subsidies, excepting via hospital block grants

loss ratio tax on non-employer plans
[It eliminates the need to expensively micromanage insurers]

Small premium increases possible in case of insurer need

I’m not in the market for excuses, only affordable coverage ($100/month).

There should be a seat in the White House press room for a high school newspaper. That seat could be rotated so that different high school journalists from across the country would have a chance to ask a question. The kids would probably ask better questions than the “professionals.” That would drive the ENEMEDIA crazy.

They lost. The people that want it repealed won and gave you the majority to do it. What a chicken

The Tea Party protests didn’t stop the Dems from enacting Obamacare. Why are Republicans so spineless?

Maybe they are not so spineless, as much as they were always on Obama's side.

The GOPe and RINOs will use ANY excuse NOT to repeal this. There has GOT to be some payday for them NOT to, IMHO.

Paul Ryan introduced alternatives to Congress SIX TIMES in the past years. WHERE, may I ask, is this plan today? It certainly was ready to rock when 0bama was _Resident!

What gives?
