I lived in So Calif from March 1964 to May 1993. I guarantee you there are damn few houses there ‘with basements’. Slab foundations are the norm.
I hadn’t thought about that. All the more coziness, I suppose.
Are these religious organizations legally responsible when one of these criminal illegal aliens does harm to an American citizen?

From living in the shadows (laughable) to proudly declaring they are illegal to finally living in the shadows. Good. They should live in fear. Maybe they will go home.
A couple of centuries we had the ‘underground railroad’ which helped people to transit to safety. This ‘underground network’ doesn’t seem to make any claim about transiting anyone to safety (such as in their homeland) but merely sounds like an ‘underground media ploy’ to appeal to sympathy and perhaps get some home upgrades done with parish or kickstarter money and maybe free labor from the people being housed.
I doubt there will be many people who want to stay in a house all their days rather than enjoy their homelands.

The fake stories keep coming. So much fear mongering and it is not reality when there are news stories about such plans to hide illegals. If the fear is real the media would not be publishing the plans. Yesterday there was an article about all the planning one illegal woman was doing so as not to be caught by ICE, and so much about her tears and fears...very elaborate plans to evade attention; and yet her name and a photo taken in front of her house in the article.
I live in an area where somewhere around 50 miles of border was essentially given to the Cartels under the previous administration and even before that enforcement was not what it should have been. I live inside that 50 mile area (about 8 miles from the border) and no one worried about me; my family, our safety, our fears even though we are citizens and this is our country.
I have noticed in the last 2 weeks the Border Patrol and LEO seem to be real busy taking back this area and I am cheering them on. In the last two days we had a state highway and Interstate 10 shut down because smugglers running from BP had major accidents, at least one of those accidents involving deaths. Now that the smugglers and coyotes are being flushed out of the brush I see it as more dangerous than ever here because the bad guys are now very desperate. I am cheering the BP and LEO on, and praying for them and all of us because I knew it would be like this to retake the area from Cartel control but it must be done.
The media and most of our politicians have never been concerned about the safety, well being, or fear of those of us living on the border. Instead we have been called racist and ridiculed. We were put down even when our friends and neighbors were kidnapped and murdered by illegals. Not to mention the constant crime of every other nature in the area.
To all these stories about the poor illegals, I have no concern for a single one. My concern left years ago. Those here illegally have a choice to return to their country; when they over ran us with all the criminal activity we were expected to suck it up and keep quiet.
Based on utilities usage and internal heating from many people present (thermal scan), a suspicion of a marijuana grow operation probably could gain a search warrant. While the search is in progress, and everyone is detained outside, checking of ID with ICE in the neighborhood would be possible.
So many pathogens await the opportunity of hosts crowding into a confined space.
