Trump tells Reuters he wants to expand nuclear arsenal, make US 'top of the pack'

President Donald Trump said on Thursday he wants to build up the U.S. nuclear arsenal to ensure it is at the "top of the pack," saying the United States has fallen behind in its atomic weapons capacity.
In a Reuters interview, Trump also complained about Russian deployment of a cruise missile in violation of an arms control treaty and said he would raise the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin when and if they meet.
On another front, Trump said China could solve the national security challenge posed by North Korea "very easily if they want to," ratcheting up pressure on Beijing to exert more influence to rein in Pyongyang's increasingly bellicose actions.

I must admit to being jealous of his ability to boldly say these things to liberals.
It would be great to have the authoritative ability to say you will implement institutional changes to make all sorts of liberal dreams into their nightmares, and to do so with a pleasant grin.

Take a page out of the Saddam & Nork play book. Say you will build more. Show scientists working, tin cans and missile shells and then save the $ and don’t build them, who would know? They are secret. Tell everybody you got a lot of them now. Let everybody else burn GDP to catch up ;)

China announced a cutback of stuff to NK and NK dissed China in the press recently.
Only the prospect of conflict in the So. China Sea is keeping NK alive.

What Trump really needs to do is completely phase out gravity dropped nuclear weapons in favor of a revived (and updated) version of the AGM-131 SRAM II missile. It will carry a nuclear warhead with an adjustable yield between 10 and 150 KT, and the missile has a range of 400 km (248 miles), ensuring better survivability of the launch aircraft.
