It's another slippery slope.
Not too long ago businesses had the right to refuse a business transaction that violated their religious principles too.
It should be “what one feels, not how one feels”!
One’s sex is what the “Hardware is, not the Software”!
It’s an effective distraction.
I actually don’t believe anybody has a right to be anything they want. If so I want to be 8 years old when I enter a movie so I can get the lower ticket price and I want to be 65 when I ride a bus. There should be a don’t ask don’t tell policy. If I can’t tell you are a man than do what you have too. But if you are taking off all your clothes, I can tell.
That is reasonable, and presumably it is what the author had in mind. However, that is not consistent with the laws/policies that are being enacted and/or repealed with such haste.
And be in the same hotel room with the opposite sex on a work-required trip, or with other students on a school trip ...

The problem with this straw man irrelevant argument is that now our women are forced to pee next to PERVERTS and RAPISTS and PEDOPHILES who now have complete unhindered access to our women and children either-
Transgenders kept their identities secret- and were NOT bold about their use of women’s bathrooms before because they faced being exposed as violating a women’s RIGHT to reasonable sense of protection before this disgusting law was passed allowing men to use women’s bathrooms- now that the law is passed- it criminalize those that now wish to prevent perverts from using women’s bathrooms instead of criminalizing perverted men who want to use the bathrooms for their sick pleasure—
This isn’t just an issue abut mentally sick individuals who convince themselves they are the opposite gender- it is about allowing ALL men- perverts, pedophiles the ‘right’ to use a woman’s bathroom- That should be very concerning to those who claim that it’s ‘no big deal’ or claim it ‘doesn’t affect other people’
Now shoudl it- see my video above- Transgender people are NOT all ‘nice people who keep to themselves’ Many are mentally sick in the head- and many were abused as kids, and in turn become abusers in their adult lives- but their small group isn’t even the most serious problem, it the facft that now perverts of ALL stripes are allowed free access to our nation’s women and children in confined areas that used to be fairly safe, to the best of our ability to protect women and children- because the law PREVENTED Sick men from being allowed i n their legally- now our women and children don;t even have that basic level of protection anymore!

The threat here lies in the Stalinesque destabilizing of what is regarded as "normal." By pushing boundaries on "normal", you can eventually justify much worse behavior.

It truly is sick, and I know if I see a guy going in where my teen daughter is, my wife is then he will be confronted .

The good old days used to have state run mental institutions for sick people too. Then the left decided to "mainstream" depravity and foist the sick onto normal society. Now monsters roam freely and we are expected to cater to their insanity.
To me it is a matter of a biological woman’s right to privacy. Having raised a house full of girls this is an important issue to me.
These people are not new. They have always been there. And some have been peeing in the girls bathroom all along. You don’t dress up as a girl and then pee in the guys bathroom. Now you may want them all gone. Sorry that is not happening. You can’t get rid of them. You can’t stop them from dressing like a girl. And frankly I am not sure I want them in the boys room.
I go back to my first statement. I don’t care about this. Its always been there. And it has not been a big problem.
