Something doesn't square with me when I hear a well spoken smart person, especially one who was CIA, say they are a democrat.
I just can't trust a person who talks of law and order and supported Hillary Clinton.

My sentiments are absolutely identical to yours.
I simply cannot trust a law enforcement / military / foreign service person who would pull a voting booth lever for Hillary Clinton.
I cannot help but think they have a personal hidden interest that is not in the nation's best interest.
