I can attest to this. My grandfather lived through the days of the Genocide and finally was able to escape the country on camel back with several of his friends. He was 13. Many years later, in his final months, he suffered several strokes. At the end, he relived those days as if they were happening again. The doctor asked our family, “Whatever happened to him? It must have been horrible.”
