That’s okay. Here’s my thinking.
Mom and dad illegal are ripe for deportation.
The kids were born here by design for this very reason.
Should we give mom and dad a pass, or should we make the kids parentless and homeless?
IMO, the kids need to leave with their parents.
We did not cause this. Good old mom and dad caused this.
We would merely be enforcing our immigration laws.
Mom and dad played the game and lost.
The rules were there to prevent tis sort of thing.
I don’t think we have an obligation to consider their interests, when they never considered ours.
I guess I’m taking a more political view. That view being the GOP members of Congress will cave if they get too much pressure (why wouldn’t they; they’ve caved for decades).
Anyhow, moving out the dreamers will mean nothing gets done because GOP congress will turn on Trump.
An overwhelming percentage of the public, including liberals, agrees with deporting those with a criminal record (less the original crime of entering illegally).
Go with that support and get what can be obtained. That is my pragmatic position.
