Now that he's famous, he ought to publish his 1996 dissertation Distrust, Deceit, and Disaster : Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Americanization of the Vietnam War, 1963-1965. It sounds as though it would be a solid contribution to the history of the Vietnam War.
