I hope it is not beyond their mentality to realize that "censorship" and "sponsorship" are two different issues. The "Sponsorship" thing is, nobody, public or private, has to provide money, a subsidy, a venue, a platform, a display area, "recognition," for a viewpoint with which they disagree.

"Censorship" would mean that the government forbids the publication of the work altogether.

What happened here was not censorship. It was the Architect of the Capitol exercising discretion of sponsorship.

the painting was in clear violation of the guidelines established for the exhibition of art in that building.
