The herd mentality in this country is scary.

Let's just call it what it is......collective obsessional behavior or mass hysteria for short.

It is a phenomenon that transmits collective delusions of threats, whether real or imaginary, through a population in society as a result of rumors and fear.

In sociology and psychology, mass hysteria is also known as collective hysteria, group hysteria or, in laymen's terms, a big bunch of whining, juvenile crybabies.

Herd mentality is a new lefty paradigm. In the 60s the lefties like SDS were imaginative and often spontaneous. Today?... Think back to Occupy Wall Street and the mic check phenomenon. Guy with a mike would yell mic check and if would be like the Brides of Fu Manchu when Christopher Lee entered the room. The Occupiers would wait to be told what to chant. It’s sad really. Back in college I used to drink with some of the SDSers. They were intelligent, articulate and humorous, if misdirected. Heck they even played a yearly touch football game with the ROTC Pershing Rifles. Today’s brand are like the Garbage Pail Kids from Sunday night’s latest Walking Dead episode. Now this herd hysteria is spreading to adults with kids. Sad.
