Irish-American designer Paul Costelloe said he thinks US President Donald Trumps wife, Melania, is probably the most glamorous since Jackie Kennedy. He is sure that the 46-year-old Slovene American, who was once a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit supermodel will definitely influence the world of fashion as she takes on her role as first lady.
She will set trends as First Lady. She likes strong colours that work well," Costelloe told the Irish Independent.
Since she got the spotlight as the new FLOTUS, she hasn't put a foot wrong according to Costelloe. Melania stepped into her husbands inauguration last month in a sky blue Ralph Lauren. She wore a high-necked sheath and matching bolero in same colour, which seems to channel former FLOTUS Jacqueline Kennedys outfit for her husband's, Former US President John Kennedy, 1961 inauguration.
Costelloe has nothing but praises for Melanias inauguration dress, saying he liked its colour. He thought the first lady looked comfortable in her Ralph Lauren number.
Irish Independent reported that Melania chose an exclusive design from Karl Lagerfeld for her first press conference in the White House. Lagerfeld is the creative director at both Chanel and Fendi.
Costelloe, one of the most established names in British and Irish fashion, said he thinks the FLOTUS definitely has her own individual style. Costelloe believes that among her assets are her good posture, as well as her confidence and ability to showcase a good outfit. She was a model so she has good posture. She's certainly Donald's trophy wife, and she behaves accordingly, she maintained.
Even Tommy Hilfiger would feel proud to dress the first lady and thinks her outfit has little to do with politics. "I think Melania is a very beautiful woman and I think any designer should be proud to dress her," he said.

Yeah, it’s pretty easy to come to that conclusion. I came to the same conclusion and I’m not even a fashion desigber. No disrespect intended to *most* of the First Ladies mentioned.
I agree. From time to time, Michelle looked pretty nice.
I don’t know if she had a stylist, but she could have used a good one.
Right. Quite a bit of glamour would be a function of age, in the sense that (sorry) older women just don’t set fashion trends.
Nancy Reagan seemed perfectly turned out every time.
In my opinion, the Mooch was ugly inside and out!
She sure has a lot less baggage then her predecessor.
Thank you.
The FR “Ann Coulter Rule” definitely applies to this FLOTUS!
I’ll give him partial credit if he meant “of all time”.
No question about it. That nonsensical fawning over the Mooch and her horse-blanked and boob-belt garb was no more authentic than giving her husband a Nobel prize for doing nothing. Just liberal fappery.
She’s very lovely. And I sense smart as a whip. She should not be under estimated by Donald’s detractors.
Obviously. Its a human upgrade over a sasquatch.
Well at least there's no guessing if the current FLOTUS is definitely a real woman. Not sure about the former particularly though given her husband's sexual preferences and history.
Oh dunno, Mooch doin' her Marilyn might give Melania a run.
I thought Jackie was incredible, her style, her culture, her somewhat mysterious personality, her grace when her husband was murdered. She fascinated me and I’ve read a lot about her...she was highly intelligent.
But...Melania is more beautiful and just as stylish and just as protective of her family. I suspect Trump is a better husband than JFK although Trump is married to his work but Melania doesn’t seem to mind that much, being independent...as was Jackie.
Mrs. T is paying homage to her predecessor by totally rocking her own boob belt. Reminds me of that feature in one of the tabloids: “Who Wore It Better” showing celebrities caught wearing the same outfit.
The red coat and flag purse photo is my favorite, tho.
Before it’s over Melania will out shine Jackie.
But democrats will never give her credit.
Has there ever been a less glamorous First lady than Moochie?
LOL....for some reason that Twilight Zone episode, with the guy on the wing, came to mind when I saw that hair.
“EVERYONE knows that the FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN FIRST LADY is the penultimate in fashion.”
Methinks you’re attempting sarcasm, while unintentionally being more accurate than you realize.
I found the following paragraph from the article amusing:
Even Tommy Hilfiger would feel proud to dress the first lady and thinks her outfit has little to do with politics. “I think Melania is a very beautiful woman and I think any designer should be proud to dress her,” he said.
Given the fact that he is supporting the anti-Trump White Bandana Campaign on his runway, even wearing one himself, I highly doubt and certainly hope he will not be dressing any of the Trumps anytime soon! Melania has far classier designers than this political fashion hack!
Politics set to be a big trend this runway show season.
On Wednesday, London-based fashion news website The Business of Fashion announced #TIEDTOGETHER, a campaign that encourages people to wear white bandanas to make a clear statement in support of human unity and inclusiveness amidst growing uncertainty and a dangerous narrative peddling division.
If Wednesday’s Tommy Hilfiger show in Los Angeles a runway on the Venice Beach boardwalk with 3,000 guests including Lady Gaga is any indication, the movement already has momentum. Models including Gigi Hadid and her younger sister Bella Hadid all walked the runway with white bandanas wrapped around their wrists a subtle political statement by the designer who dodged the subject of politicizing business in the Trump era when speaking to THR backstage, saying, “I’m just focused on what we’re trying to do with our brand, which is disrupt. Nevertheless, ON THE RUNWAY, HILFIGER HIMSELF HAD A WHITE BANDANA TIED TO THE BACK OF HIS JEANS.
The Hildebeast and the Wookie were the worst FLOTUS during our lifetimes.
