Democratic lawmakers are openly questioning President Donald Trumps mental health, and a growing number of them are invoking the 25th Amendment as a springboard to introduce legislation that would allow former presidents and vice presidents to determine if Trump is mentally unfit for office.
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA), and Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) are among several of these Democrats, according to The Hill. Franken reportedly said a few Republican colleagues have expressed concerns to him about Trumps mental health, and Lieu plans to introduce legislation that would require the presence of a psychiatrist or psychologist in the White House.

Mr. President (we know you read these posts), simply Tweet out:
My mental health? The dems think that partial-birth abortion is an acceptable practice. Anyone who believes that PBA is OK is a sociopath.
NO PROBLEM!
All they need to do is get his Cabinet to unanimously agree.
Then get his Vice President to agree.
Then get a 2/3’s vote of the House.
Then get a 2/3’s vote of the Senate.
EASY PEASY!
The democrats are open enemy islamist facilitators.
Where the hell are these mentally retarded “democrats” going to find a shrink sane enough to check PRESIDENT Trump out. There aren’t any. Geez.
This truly proves just how unhinged they are.
To the insane - the Democrats - everyone else is insane.
All they need to do is get a majority of his Cabinet to unanimously agree.
Then get his Vice President to agree.
Then get a 2/3s vote of the House.
Then get a 2/3s vote of the Senate.
EASY PEASY!
Slight correction, but still a Liberal delusion.
There is a profound irony at play here. There is a desperate and urgent need for a 28th Amendment. This thread clearly documents it.
We can, I believe, all agree that the accusation of insanity can be made by anyone. It is also a given that the need to make that accusation frivolously and effortlessly comes most easily to --- the insane.
The Constitution is silent on the touchy subject for the obvious reason that it never occured to the Founders, nor anyone else since, that it was unnecessary.
The 25th Amendment was adopted in 1967. And what it proves is that, if carelessly written documents are created, the insane(!) will find a way to abuse or pervert it.
Which brings us back to the need for a 28th Amendment : minimum requirement to run for The House and the Senate. The founders never dreamed that future generations would reduce the qualifications to the absurdly low bar of simply having a pulse.

And then there's the little matter of exactly what is the task of an elected legislator. To represent the citizens who elect them? Not necessarily.
Legislate unicorns and rainbows? Whatever whim inhabits them? Pass laws that they are exempt from observing?
Pass special rights and priviliges for family or tribe? Everything not prohibited is allowed. Wait. That's backwards for legislators. But we can change that. And if we can change that why can't we just refuse to apply the rules of elections? We make the laws, right?
You want me to put this rainbow jacket on? Why are the sleeves sewn together? What do you mean it's the rule? We changed the rules sometime in the late 80s, I'm pretty sure. So p**s off!
No, never mind the judicial... they're on our side!
Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haa!
A great idea, although I suspect that the House and Senate Dems are more obviously in need of psychologists or psychiatrists, and there we're talking about at least 435 in the House and 100 in the senate, assuming that the Dims would insist that the GOPe also deserve the special attention.
And then there's the Judiciary.
Since until relatively recently homosexuality and lesbianism and other perversions were officially Psychological disorders, those would require 8 minimum.
It's worth wondering if the Federal government will be subject to practical total paralysis while the nut cases are officially identified and replaced; or not. The size of government may be on the road toward a radically smaller size, with corresponding mass reduction in cost.
Unexpected consequences... of the good kind.
Clearly, a Democrat president can be a demented egomaniac from Indonesia, as long as he bears the right Marxist chops, but a Republican cannot be a dominant American success story.
Same old same old with the Democrats.
How many brain-damaged Americans are falling for this ploy?
I'm hoping they melt down and self implode for the good of the country. How is it possible we have a country where one of the top leaders look like this? This picture was taken some time back but it for all we know; this is fairly typical of all leftist leadership and a few supposed republicans as well.
Far as I can recall there was the bastard kid of a world banger as last president. His deep-seated hatred for Americans was an obsession. Also, how many congress people are queer and how many judges are same, both of which are SSADs, aka, Same Sex Attraction Disordered.
Yep, the sodomites in drag have come to lead the rat party until they put a Muslim in charge of the DNC committee.
You raised an excellent question because it's one that probably lurks uninvited into the recesses of our minds in view of the cloak and dagger theories that hang today like a fog over the D.C. Swamp.
I can't picture V.P. Pence, an upright man, being involved in any kind of nefarious palace coup that would culminate in President Trump being unseated and replaced by Pence. Not to be intentionally flip about it, the Vice-President is rather a Mr. Goody Two-Shoes with a strong evangelical background.
Reince Priebus was a lawyer out of Wisconsin who rose through Republican ranks to become chair of the national GOP party, then during the last presidential primary he forged a political and personal relationship with Trump...and now he sits at the right hand of the most powerful man in the world.
I doubt he would jeopardize his lofty position by being secretly disloyal to his boss. Would any of us do such a thing? I doubt it.
I'm not a Pollyanna, strange things happen in this world, and there certainly are cabals in existence right now to take President Trump down, but I don't believe he has any such untrustworthy personal staff members in his inner circle. He may have some that will prove to be incompetent over time, but "disloyal"...I think not.
Since we're all so emotionally invested in the President's success, it's easy to become a nervous wreck when we hear and read conspiracy theories. I cope with it and stay strong by humming a few bars of "Praise the Lord, but Keep Passing the Ammunition" !

From what I know, Pence is clean as wind driven snow & Rience is pragmatic but smart enough to know he will never get another shot like this & would be a fool to damage it.
I’ve been seeing over at CTH that Sundance has been suggesting that Pence has been co-opted by the uniparty. I wonder whether Sundance has really picked up on something or has gone off the deep end. During the campaign I found Sundance to be quite reliable, but this is surprising to me.
Do you have a take on Sundance’s evident hypothesis?
Sundance also predicted a popular vote turnout of 73m for Trump.
I am not worried about Pence one iota.
That vote total was a rather big miss.
It seems there is more than one Sundance (more than one posting under the name) and there may be one of them that has it out for Pence.
Nevertheless, the secretive Comey meeting last Friday and the Rubio tweet is unsettling.
Thanks for your perspective.
